Girls beat up girl caught on tape

karilouMomof2's picture

For 30 minutes a bunch of girls attacked another girl because of what she had posted on her myspace page. The girl that was attacked ended up a concussion, damage to her left ear and eye.

The Mother of one of the girls that attacked the girl, defends her daughter. She states that the one who received the beating should be able to take it considering what she posted. In other words, she got what she deserved. The Mother has been charged in the account as well for not stopping the beating. There were 8 people involved in this. 2 boys were look outs, and 6 girls, ages 14, 16 and 17. They were all arrested and according to police, were laughing and stating things like "I guess we are not going to the beach for spring break."

This happened in Florida. I am appalled. Appalled at the lack of concern in the Mother. She continued to state that the girl was warned not to come into the house. No one called the police. Yikes!! How could an adult not step up and stop this??

Scary doesn't even begin to

Scary doesn't even begin to explain what is happening more and more in society. Parents are not parenting and when their kids behave like thugs, parents would rather get behind them and say the've done nothing wrong than admit maybe they forgot to teach them some basic human being skills.

sure, fine, whatever

This makes me sick. I saw

This makes me sick. I saw something similar that mentioned You Tube on azcentral just now. This is the link: http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2008/04/08/20080408teenbeating08-...

I hope those girls see some jail time out of this. Maybe then they'll learn it's not so cool to be caught on tape.

This is truly awful. Wonder

This is truly awful. Wonder what that Mom would be saying if it was her daughter who had been attacked. I can't stand parents who won't take responsibility for their childrena nd their own lack of parenting.

This reminds me of the local fight on the school bus. Thank God the girl who was acting out against the driver was sentenced with something. We need to prove that this behavior is not tollerable. Ridiculous

This is so shocking and scary. And over a myspace blog? I get worried about my kids when they'll be old enough to want to be using myspace (or any of those sites). How do you monitor them when they use those sites? You never know what kind of weird people you're really dealing with - and kids don't have the experience to know when they're dealing with dangerous types.

You DON'T let them use those sites. My son will be 14 this year. All of his friends have myspace pages, cell phones, computers in their rooms but my son does not. He's a great kid and doesn't think I'm a horrible mom for not letting him have those things. He may not like it all the time, but he understands my reasons and even if he didn't , oh well!

Very sad, but not

hobbymommy's picture

Very sad, but not surprising. The girls learned to fight somewhere, so mom is obviously not a good role model. The fact that she would justify her daughter's horrible behavior is incomprehensible. So sad to see our society reducing itself to this. All we can do fellow moms, is make sure we raise our kids right. We can't control other children, but teaching our own right from wrong, is a good place to start.

This is indeed scary. As a parent of two boys I am not sure quite how to react to this story. If this would have happened to my boys I would have wanted to physically hurt whoever hurt my babies but on the other hand that is the type of violent thoughts that are partially at fault for these types of events. Everyone is saying an eye for an eye but two wrongs dont make a right remember! I do feel that they should be punished to the full extent possible but also that as a society we need to find a way to help the children of today even the troubled ones. It cant be only up to the parents. It takes a village to raise a Child and only one moment of stupidity to possibly ruin one!
