What is this world coming to? I needed to get in some news before going to bed tonight b/c my family has been sick I haven't seen any news at all. I just logged on to a national website for news and am sickened, truely sickened at one of the first things that popped up. The story said that in Louisiana A 19 yr old mother's new 6 week old baby was kidnapped and Investigators said the infant was beaten on the head, singed with a curling iron and drugged by a 22 yr old co worker of the 19 yr old. The 22 yr old was mad at the 19 yr old for tattling about another co worker.
This brought me to tears. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON IN THIS WORLD????? HOW COULD SOMEONE DO SUCH A THING?

i am sorry to hear u were so upset, but then again i am happy u had a bad reaction to the news. alotta ppl cringe at child abuse and so much of it going on. can u imagine all of the goings on that arent reported and how very sad it all is. there seems to be an attack on children under 10 for like the last 12 it has seemed to gone really worse. or maybe just more ppl have gotten caught and brought it out to the news. i dont understand how anyone can be such masoquistic(sp) and live or die with the fact they just hurt a baby ... any baby. its so sickening not to mention if the child is ur own.

That is so sad. I'm not sure how kids with parents who truly love and protect them realize how lucky they are these days. I don't know if it's more prevelent or more widely reported. Either way, it makes me sick.

It really did shake me
It really did shake me reading the story.. More than normal but then again I have an infant that I had just cuddled and laid down for the night and then I come in and log on to the computer and see something like that. We also struggled with infertility for 5 yrs we wanted and prayed for a baby so long and it bothers me so much to see children abused or at risk. There are people out there that have no right being a parent at all. It may not be the case in this story b/c the baby was kidnapped from the mother. The mother could have been wonderful to her baby. It just really shook me up..
