Sect teen girls pregnant

Texas officials are now saying that 31 teenagers are pregnant or were pregnant. That is out of about 54.

In Texas a teen girl can get married with her parents consent if they are 16 or older. Do you realize that a lot of these girls are/were younger than this?? I have not heard anyone outside of this compound, other than the lawyers for them, agree with their practices. Is this because of the media or is it because it is just plain wrong? I for one think it is horrible and yes, child abuse.

I think it's awful what these children have been through. If adult women want to make a choice to live this life, fine. But when it comes to children, I think this is abuse and the authorities should take action.

It's so sad to think that things like this occur in life. I think getting married at that young age (with parents approval) still just is way too young. Especially when the 'husband' is three times older than the child. That's my 2 cents.

For once I don't think the media is being one sided. This is illegal and immoral. They say that the people in the outside (aka "real") world have been corrupted by evil. HELLO you don't think marrying off your 13 year old daughter to a 50 year old man is evil? Or breaking the Lord's law of "one man and one woman"? Hmmm, or having a 15 year old who is actually your cousin, marry your dad and become your mom? These little girls cannot possibly love these older men, they are brainwashed. I think the young boys are even brainwashed into thinking this is right.

Our world may be messed up, but at least we are trying to protect our children. The Amish think our world is evil and they are protecting their families. But they are doing it legally and morally.

Their entire "religion" is a sham. I think I'm allowed to say what I think on here, right?? Whoever called in to Child Protective Services is a hero, and the State of Texas deserves a big commendation for having the guts to go in
there and rescue those kids. Child abuse makes me crazy, and when it's attempted to be shielded by "religion" that is doubly evil. I pray for all those kids; bless all the families who stepped up to shelter them.
