Tax rebates

ArizonaMoms's picture

Today Congress announced plans to move forward with tax rebates to stir up the economy. Households with kids will make out the best. Read more here.

Which brings up the question, will you spend or save it?

I know my washer is starting to have fits. I don't know if it will last another few months. So in my case, I can see spending $1,000 (at most) on a quality washer. I don't want to do it, but most likely I'll have to regardless of the rebate.

So in reality I'm not going to spend more, it's just not going to hurt as much to do it. What about you?

Arizona Moms Editor Yvette Armendariz shares stories about raising her kids and tips for busy parents in her Time-starved (goddess) Mom blog. She and her husband are raising two children, ages 8 and 11.

Hmmm....the mature thing

Hmmm....the mature thing would be paying off some bills.....so I think we will spend half on mature things and the other on our home and for fun!

We would probably put most of it toward bills, or possibly bank it, in case my husband decided to quit his job.
We are seriously in need of a new sofa, I would love to put some of it toward that!

Times are tough. I bet we'll spend a little of it, but I'm hoping to convince my hubby to stick the rest in the kids' college funds, which needs a boost big time.

I'd love to spend it on a vacation, but the reality is it will recoup our crazy expenses from emergencies last year.

We'll probably split it

We'll probably split it between savings, debt, and a little for our house. But what I really would love to do is have a custom room built and organized for my scrapbooking and crafts.

VACATION!!!! My boys are anxiously awaiting the opening of the Harry Potter theme park in Orlando. It doesn't open until next year, but we're ready to start planning. This bonus will be perfect, so I can do something else with my work bonus!

Not sure what we will do

myseashell's picture

Not sure what we will do with it (home improvement or vacation?). But it's a shame that the national debt will be borrowing against it's own debt to dig itself into even more debt.

i know we should spend to

genieann's picture

i know we should spend to help stimulate the economy but we will probally pay bills and try to save some. Lets just hope that the democrats get in to office they will do something to help reduce the national debt like Clinton did if the republicans keep on getting elected i fear for social security and for the economy
