They usually offer an alternative. Try the Marriott. It is north of the freeway on the same street as the train station. We stayed there one year and it was clean, pretty new then too.
Good luck.

Last year I had the same problem and they were able to book me a package with another local hotel (I think a Hilton). If you call the Lodge they will fax you a list of all the other hotels in the area. We have stayed at two other hotels and they were fine.
It is a really small town so anything they recommend should be good and close.
Also, on the main street in town there is a corner restaurant which has everything homemade including pies. I would recommend eating there one day if you have time. Just ask for the pie restaurant and everyone will know it.
I read about the Polar
I read about the Polar Express attraction and thought it would be a fun excursion for my mom and me to take my sister on. She's 2 years old and extremely well behaved and intelligent for her age but I am worried it may not be something that a child so young would enjoy. Any ideas from those who have experienced it?

I think it is very magical and I am sure your sister would be fine. Read the book to her and talk about it and I don't think you can go wrong. The movie can be kind of scary so I wouldn't recommend that.
