We love brunch. One of our favorite T.V. lines of all time is when Marge Simpson asks someone "What is brunch" and the reply is "it isn't breakfast, and it isn't lunch, but it comes with a slice of cantelope." or something like that.
Anyway, do you have a favorite brunch place (buffet style). And is it kids friendly?? The places we like seem to go out of business imediately after we discover it, so you may or may not what to tell me :)

I know that Macayo's in Awhautukee (probably spelled that wrong) used to have wonderful brunch buffet, but that was years ago and I'm not sure if they still offer it. I'm not sure if it was just that location or if other Macayo's also offer brunch; might be worth checking out, it was super yummy and there was more than just Mexican food offered.
Tradiciones, close to
Tradiciones, close to downtown Phoenix at the northeast corner of 16th Street and Roosevelt, has brunch from 9:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. I haven't been there for brunch yet, but I took a colleague there for lunch today and the food was yummy! They are true to there slogan of "Much more than a restaurant" because you feel like you've just walked into a small plaza in Mexico. I'm sure kids would enjoy watching the tortillera make tortillas or the mercado stalls with lots of fun things to look at and buy. There's also lively music playing, so you can't help but be in good mood.
And I hope they don't go out of business after you go there! They haven't been around too long. Check out their website at http://www.tradicionesrestaurant.net/.

Another place is El Torito in Scottsdale (off Scottsdale Rd & Lincoln.) They even have mariachi's and dancers. I think this is the only El Torito in all of Arizona (this restaurant is huge in Northern California.) They have a decent brunch. I grew up with brunch each Sunday (something my husband's family never did - they only ate cereal 7 days a week for breakfast.) So I too love going out for brunch every so often - we don't do it too much - but I sure have fond memories of our family gathering for brunch as a child. Another good restaurant (however doesn't serve brunch) but they do serve freshly squeezed OJ and healthy food (not as greasy food as say a franchise) is Butterfield's Pancake House & Restaurant in Scottsdale off of Scottsdale Rd & Shea Blvd.

There is an El Torito in the loop around Metrocenter mall....I saw the sign for their brunch as I drove by the other day.
I work in the area so I am a frequent mall visitor. :)
