Our family enjoys going out to eat at Islands Restaurants. The other day after the St. Patricks Day parade we were on our way home and thought we'd stop by Tempe to go to Islands. Come to find out the place was close - practically boarded up. The next day I had to go to North Scottsdale and driving from the 101 we saw the Islands we typically go to - off Raintree and 101. Well, that one was closed too! So last week while shopping at the PV Mall I had to drive by to see if that Islands was closed - and it looked open still. Also one of my friends enjoys taking her family to this restaurant as well - and texted me that the one at Desert Ridge is still open. What is going on with Islands, does anyone know? Are they slowly closing restaurants or just those that didn't get a big crowd. I sure hope the one close to the PV Mall stays open - we love that restaurant!

'I know what you mean I
'I know what you mean I used', 'I know what you mean I used to work at chase right there\r\nwhere islands used to be,and they were busy a lot especially on Mill with all the events that go on there. Center point also closed the theatre there as well. So I don\'t know why they would have closed that, I know there\'s one off the 60 at Dobson that is still open. When they closed the Mill location I was surprised, I went there a lot for lunch,in fact I had gone there a couple of days before it closed
The one in Mesa is still
The one in Mesa is still open and I love it. Have you tried the tortilla soup? It's the best, especially if you don't feel like a burger!

When a company is in
When a company is in bankruptcy - and is re-organizing (more common than the bankruptcy where the just liquidate all assets) - they often close those "under-performing" locations. Remember how K-Mart did that a while back?
I wonder if Islands is in bankruptcy? I believe that they are owned by the same company as Bahama Breeze - we loved the one that used to be at Desert Ridge and closed.
Hollywood Video is in bankruptcy - but they are re-organizing, so only some of the locations will close.
Lillian Vernon (great catalog!) also just declared bankruptcy, but supposedly they are staying in business too, just some sort-of reorganization.
