I am in my brother's wedding and the bridal party is looking into the possibility of hosting a Spa Party for my future sister-in-law's bachelorette party.
Most of the girls in the bridal party are early-mid 20's (I'm the old (inappropriate term) at 34!! ha!) and they don't have a ton of money to spend, but are willing to spend a little something.
Does anyone have any ideas for a place the girls can have a day of relaxation? We'll have to make sure the bride gets her massage, facial, mani/pedi and the rest of the girls can do whatever they want to fit their budgets.
I was even wondering if anyone knows of a "team" that comes to you for a spa day. That would be very cool.
We are in North Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks!!!

To save money I would look into making appointments at a school to get these services done. It's something I have always wanted to do, but just never did. I don't get these things done, so if I did, I would want to do it cheap too. These schools are expensive, so the students must be into it, otherwise it's a waste of money on their part. Trust me, I went to massage school and it was expensive!!!
Is the wedding soon? As in,
Is the wedding soon? As in, are you looking to do something this summer?
I'm asking b/c most brides like to get a little sun before the big day (no matter how much we all slather on "50" - I know I wanted a little "glow" for my wedding!).
My point is, how about renting a cabana at the Arizona Biltmore resort? While most resorts require you to have a room to get a cabana, the Biltmore does not. Also, most resort cabanas are just a tent w/ a patio table in it. At the Biltmore, you get reserved lounge chairs, a covered patio area w/ a table, chairs and misters running above. Then, inside off the patio, you have a small room w/ a TV, ceiling fan, couch, and then, off that, you have a full bathroom w/ shower, sink, potty and amenities (and if you have a bunch of girls, just call housekeeping for a bag full of shampoo, lotion, etc.).
It is just $80 for the day (basically 9-5) during the week and about $140 on a weekend. Divide that by a bunch, or even a few, it is cheap.
What a fun girls' day by the pool! The Spa is right there, so you can bop in and out of the spa (behind the giant water slide) to get services and then pad back over to your cabana to hang out!!!
Last time we rented one for the day w/ friends, we even brought in a couple of discrete coolers w/ lemonade and vodka (so we didn't have to just buy those $12 drinks!) and even some guacamole and chips and stuff. Our waitress didn't care one bit.
The grounds of course, are lovely too...
and, for a bit more money, they have one super huge large cabana with a huge bar area, multiple couches, big bathroom, etc. Definitely set up for a PARTY!!

That sounded like a good idea...I'll have to keep that one in mind for future parties.
What a great idea!! The
What a great idea!!
The wedding is in early October, so this is a definite possibility. I love the idea that everyone can hang out by the pool, and then trickle off for a spa treatment if needed!
I'm going to suggest the idea, and if for some reason they don't want to, there is NO DOUBT I will keep this in mind for another time...I think it's a great idea for when friends come into town to visit! I had no idea you didn't need to have a room!
Thanks so much!
Hello, I am throwing a spa
Hello,
I am throwing a spa party at my house in August. This is actually the second one I have done this. This time around instead of going from place to place to get people to provide services, I actually went to Craigslist. I have been contacted by students. By law they cannot charge but are allowed to take tips so everything will be really cheap for my guests. Let me know if you are still interested in having it in your home and maybe the same people that I got will want to do yours. E-mail me at nessalong10@hotmail.com. I would love to help you plan yours based on experience from mine.
