My son is 7 months and has been doing great on stage 2 baby food. He finishes an entire jar and then most of the time will follow up with a whole container of a fruit or fruit blend. The doctor said to use my discretion when changing stages.
This is his feeding pattern for at least the past month and a half.
7am - 8oz formula
8:30 - container of fruit mixed with rice cereal
12 noon - 8oz formula
4:30 - stage 2 dinner and container of fruit
7pm - 8oz formula
I know all children are different, but I was just wondering what most mom's are doing at this 7 month stage.

My 7 mo old skipped
My 7 mo old skipped traditional baby food all together (she will not allow me to feed her with a spoon) She eats regular fruits and veggies chopped into small peices. She eats bananas, peaches, diced apple chunks, green beens, cooked carrots, peas..all cut into very small peices obviously as she only has 1 tooth....I often by the gerber graduates fruits and veggies that are already cut up as it is easier. I was very suprised she was able to chew these up and your little one may suprise you with what they are able to do also. She also still takes about 4 - 6 oz bottles each day...hope this helps!
We skipped stage 2 foods and
We skipped stage 2 foods and went right to pick ups. My son refused to let me feed him. He wanted to do it himself. I did a lot of easy to eat food. Cooked carrots cut up real small. Cooked green beans cut up small. I also used the graduates raviolis...he loves the chicken and carrots. I just cut them in half before I gave them to him. It seems like what you are doing is working for you and your child. I would think he will let you know when he no longer wants what you give him.
My daughter skipped on the
My daughter skipped on the stage three baby food, so we went from 2 to regular food. She would gag on the stage 3 food and didn't like any of the "main courses". And she eats just about anything and everything.
I don't know if it was the texture or the taste, but it didn't go over well at all with her.
The recipe for perpetual ignorance is: be satisfied with your opinions and content with your knowledge.

sounds like you're doing
sounds like you're doing great with your son! The amounts sound pretty typical. You can start to give him water in a sippy cup or bottle too.
my babies never went to stage 3 baby food -- why buy the stuff in the jar when they can eat soft "real" food? When your baby starts showing an interest in what you're eating, (intently watching your fork go from your plate to your mouth) or trying to grab it out of your hands, try these soft foods (cut in small bites) that baby can pick up:
avocado
peach
baked potato / sweet potato
banana
baked apple
noodles (small bites)
beans (canned - black or refried or green)
steamed until very soft -- carrots, zucchini, squash (yellow or acorn or butternut, any kind really)
A variety of colors throughout the day makes sure they get enough nutrients. Be creative! And remember, they don't have our palate, so things you wouldn't eat together, they don't mind. (Apricots and black beans - Yum! ) Cheerios, of course, are a staple at our house :) (Actually, we get the off-brand organic kind, but, same thing)

Ohhhh, I like you're schedule!
Very smart to throw in a Stage 2 for lunch (portion size!). I actually gave my son a Stage 3 dinner last night and he ate almost the whole thing, so I think it's time to try to drop the afternoon bottle and swap a Stage 2 dinner for lunch. Then I can give him the larger Stage 3 for dinner!!!
UGH, so confusing!
FYI, You were my "pregnant tv friend" throughout my pregnancy. I was soooo jealous, because as I lay on the couch, temperature always HOT, feeling fat and uncomfortable, you always looked GREAT!!!!
When is your daughter's birthday? My son was born 9/15.
