Here's an old recipe I just rediscovered for an easy, cold, summer treat: slice up a 2 or 3 bananas into 1/2 inch slices. Place on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Put in freezer for at least 2 hours or up to 2 days. Put the slices in a blender and mix until the consistency of ice cream. Serve immediately. (I added some milk because the bananas were too stiff). It tastes just like banana ice cream. I served it to the kids with some chocolate chips on top. They loved it!

I used to do the same with a little peanut butter as well! A little protein, a little potassium!!! YUM!!
This is such a great idea!
This is such a great idea! I'm always looking for a treat to eat at night instead of the same old peach or strawberries. Hey, I can freeze those too. In fact, I could make a frozen fruit medley using banana and strawberries.
I'm going to try the frozen banana first. I'll blend it with a square of high cocoa dark chocolate!
Thanks so much for this brilliant, nutritious, (and simple) suggestion.
