Gee, Teraysa ... I just deleted a long diatribe on how you can save gobs of money and time and still eat well. Too long. I got bored with myself. If you're (or anybody is) interested in an old biddy's advice, based on what I've learned about buying like a cheapskate and eating like a fat cat (without as much fat), I'm happy to share.

I know it is hard at times with cooking healthy...work...kids...
I usually make a list sunday a menu we are eating sunday thru thursday, we usually eat out friday and saturday is a free for all.....

I use a crock pot twice a week add some meat , veggies.....and when I get home dinner is ready, except I add a salad.

I try to also premake some food sunday.Cut up veggies...that kind of thing.I know I am not really giving you food ideas, but maybe these tips will help.

LOL give me the diatribe!

I try to stick to a (sort of) schedule - pizza night on Fridays, a soup & sandwich night, pasta night, that sort of thing. We try to cook enough on the weekends so there are leftovers for another meal. Or, if you're grilling on the weekends (say fish, which we do a lot) throw on a couple extra chicken breasts. It's great to have them during the week for sandwiches, to throw on pasta, salads, whatever. I try to keep a binder of favorite kid friendly recipes so I always have some meals to fall back on.
