We just started my daughter on yogurt and she loves it!! We got the Yobaby yogurt but was just wondering if any of you moms know a yogurt that is like yobaby....yobaby is a bit expensive.
Any ideas??? I like the all organic, no hormones etc...
Thanks!

I don't know of another

I don't know of another brand, however you're paying more because it's organic and you'll always pay premium for this regardless of the brand. However, click on this link
http://www.stonyfield.com/coupons/signin.cfm
and it brings you to the Stonyfield Farms website which is the maker of YoBaby and you can enter your e-mail address and print off a $1 off coupon for YoBaby yogurt.

I remember those days.My youngest loved yogert and ate it everyday. Get the coupon for YoBaby from the site and check your sunday paper, they go on sale for 2/$5 sometimes too. Sprouts has an organic yogert that's sprouts brand and inexpensive.

I started my son with the

I started my son with the YoBaby and he loved it too! I gave him that for about a month, and started to wonder the same as you. For the past few weeks I've been buying the Yoplait Kids (Dora and Diego) with Omega 3 DHA and 25% less sugar. He LOVES it even more! I don't know the exact price, but I got some yesterday at Fry's for under $3 for six pack.

I know that the organic Yobaby is better, but in this day and age, with the cost of things rapidly on the rise, I simply can't afford to do EVERYTHING organic. The yoplait kids is just fine for us.

Good luck.

My daughter used to eat soy

My daughter used to eat soy yogurt, and I would get them from trader joes!! Alla natural, and they have regular yogurt too. Some of them don't come with lids, and they are the big ones so be prepared to scoop some into a separate storage container. Just make sure it has some milk fat in it, or if you choose soy (if baby is allergic) then you have that option as well. Good luck.

I just tried Greek Yogurt

susan_hampton's picture

I just tried Greek Yogurt that I found at Whole Foods. Everyone in my fammily including the baby loved it, it's creamier and thicker than regular yogurt and as far as I can tell doesn't have a bunch of junk in it, and wasn't any more expensive than yobaby. Came in Honey flavor which was really yummy but not too sweet at all.

check out Horizon

check out Horizon brand...Usually I find a lot of them at Fry's Marketplace in the organic section. They are a little expensive which most organics are anyway but they sure help Sky with her dairy products issue. They are antibiotics/hormones free and lactose free, too.

Get the Horizon brand in the

Get the Horizon brand in the big tub. Portion out a couple of big spoonfuls and add fruit puree to it. It's a lot cheaper that way, and the Yobaby yogurt has added sugar, which is why they really like it, but isn't necessary.

For older kids and grownups, Sprouts carries fruit juice sweetened yogurt that is lower in sugar (I am blanking on the name), that we really like.

Have you tried the plain

MissJan's picture

Have you tried the plain organic Greek yogurt at Trader Joes? It is so delicious and thick - like pudding! Trader Joe's brand is reasonably priced and the container is 16 ounces. You could make your own portions, sweeten with a bit of organic vanilla, maple syrup, fresh fruit, etc.

Its goooooooood stuff!
