Organic Eco-Chic Nail Spa

organicures's picture

Do you have safety concerns about getting a manicure or pedicure?
Have you been hearing the backlash against chemicals used in our beauty products?
Think it's great to support an establishment (especially a nail spa!) that is commited to being green?
Constantly battling dry cracked heels because we wear sandals year round here in the valley of the sun?

I am the co-owner of a new nail spa in Scottsdale. I invite you to come visit us and enjoy our new client summer special of 50% off your first mani/pedi combo. We pride ourselves on being the safest nail spa in town! There are no odors because we do not do acrylic or gel nails. All products are 100% organic, wildcrafted or natural with no chemicals. And all implements used in the service are disposable or sterilized in a medical grade autoclave.

The spa was designed for mommies-to-be, nursing moms, anyone with compromised immune systems, or anybody just needing to relax and walk away with fabulous tootsies. You don't have to worry about any toxins or chemicals touching your body and hence reaching your baby. We have recliners that can be put in any position that is comfortable for you. Sit up, lay back...it's up to you! Feet are slightly elevated to promote circulation in your legs and feet. An optional knee bolster can take the pressure off your back.

Our spa is all about relxation. You can sit back and relax to soothing music, read a magazine or watch the flat screen tv running the beautiful Discovery series Planet Earth or Blue Planet.

Oh! And our manicures and pedicures are done soakless! Resting your hands and feet in water actually dehydrates the skin and nails. Instead we use hot oil and damp hot towels to soften cuticles and skin. And being soakless means no jetted tubs therefore no chance for the spread of bacteria or infections.

Please visit our website at www.organicuresnailspa.com to see more about our spa. And don't hesitate to call if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment. 480-451-0199

Looking forward to seeing you at the spa!

I love the concept, I think

momto1lil1's picture

I love the concept, I think it's great and while I understand anything organic or all natural comes with a price tag, I think $70 for a pedicure is absolutly ludicrous organic or not. I understand a portion of that compensates for the tip since you have a no tipping policy, but still $70 is over the top in my opinion. Although a great concept I think the price tag that comes along with it is quite cost prohibitive for many and especially with the way the economy is many people either don't have or won't spend that type of money on a pedicure.

The 1/2 off the combination special right now is a semi-good deal if you're calculating in that you don't have to leave a tip, however I still think that's a bit much. However, the regular price for the manicure/pedicure combo is outrageous as well .... $100 for a manicure and pedicure??!!?? I just can't imagine.

I was thinking the same

I agree with you - the prices are very high. It sounds like a nice concept, and Scottsdale is the right location for it, indeed.......I am sure there are plently of ladies there who have no problem dropping $100 of their husband's money on a mani-pedi.

Thanks for taking the time

Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. Our market research shows that our prices are slightly LESS than other spas offering the level of service we are offering, WITHOUT the traditional tipping and up-charging for extras that is so typical. I didn’t mention in my blog that we designed our space to be as eco-friendly and green as our products – sustainable furniture, no-voc paint, natural cork floors, HEPA air filtration system, organic and 100% natural cotton towels. We understand that not everyone will perceive these features as value-added. We believe we’ve created an experience, as much as a service, that is safe, nurturing and lovely for everyone, including our staff.

In my humble opinion, I think it sounds like a very nice environment to relax in. You are obviously not a "nail salon" but a spa. That is usually going to be a different price.

It's out of my price range however if it were it sounds valuable. Actually I recently started not painting my nails for these sort of reasons so I think you are right on the money.

More like a day at the spa than the quick nail treatment.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi LaraPiu, You can still

organicures's picture

Hi LaraPiu,
You can still paint your nails, just make sure the polish you use is 3-free. That means no toulene, formaldehyde or DPB. These are all known carcinogens. Many polish lines have already eliminated these (Zoya, Nubar, SpaRitual, Butter) and most are coming on board quickly (Essie, O.P.I.).

If you want to go an extra step, there are also water based polishes on the market.

Suncoat

Acquarella (located in Tucson and a line we carry in the spa)

The water based polishes do not last as long as the oil based ones but they are improving all the time. Just be sure to follow the instructions and remove the polish when it says (about a week).

Katy1999's picture

In another post where you were going on about how angry you were at me for defending myself for working as opposed to being sahm, and mentioning how you are a one income family, and listed all the sacrifices you have made, like not going out to eat, taking your kids to movies, that you don't take them for goofy golf, etc......and you are going to visit a spa that charges $100 for a manicure and a pedicure? Really??? I find that kind of amazing!

Actually the post was a

Actually the post was a response to let you know that woman who spend money aren't necessarily spending their husband’s money. So you caught caught me, I told a big wopper (that I have the money) to prove a point. Plenty of women have an income and can afford their own luxuries in life and they are not all in Scottsdale. The original poster was offering a spa treatment and there are women who like going to spas. So I found your post condescending.
The interesting thing is I didn't come to this website all weekend long because frankly the comments are just getting old and make me feel ugly after reading them.
