Family Physician Referrals

I am at a loss at finding a good primary care provider for my family. We live in Surprise and though we liked our doctor we had before, the office is way to busy, the wait time much too long, and the drive to her office a bit too far so we decided it was probably time for us to find a physician closer to home who could attend to all of our basic healthcare needs. I picked one name out of the insurance book, wasn't thrilled with her but all in all better than before, but called today to make an appointment for my husband and find out she will no longer be there as of the 27th of thsi month, so here I am again needing to find someone else. I dont want to just pick a name randomly again...do any of you moms have a super wonderfuly family doctor who is taking new patients? I would love to hear from you! Thanks!

I'd say ask around in your neighborhood, work, church, friends who live close by to you. You'd be surprised how referrals by those in and around your area know of great physicians. I'd refer you to one, but we live in different parts of town. Ask 5-6 people in your area who they go to and if they like their physician. If so, you just might find a wonderful doctor closeby. I wish you the best as I know how hard it is to find good healthcare these days....and when you do find a great physician you stick with them forever.

I really like my doctor, Dr. Heidi Banister. She is with Arizona Family Care (website: www.azfamilycare.com). There are 2 other doctors there - Dr. McDonald and Dr. Lampert - not a fan of either of them (I saw Dr. McDonald on short-notice when Dr. Banister wasn't available; my fiance saw Dr. Lampert); however, I really like Dr. Banister. They are located on about 79th Avenue and Union Hills . . .It's not in Surprise, but close! Hope this helps! :)
