Check out IKEA (you can do it online). Their line is very sturdy and nice-looking, so it's definitely something you can resell once the kids get older.

IKEA's great. I also really like Baby USA on Tatum/Shea--they're more expensive than IKEA, for sure, but they have 3-4 really great (20-30% off) sales each year and they offer delivery at very reasonable rates. Ashley Furniture and the RoomStore aren't too expensive either and the quality seems certainly sufficient for a child!

Definitely IKEA - that was where we went when my son grew into a 'big boy' bed. They have reasonable prices. I'm sure also consignment stores have some stuff too.
