Nails

mujkotek's picture

My husband is taking me out on a date for the first time since the birth of our six month old and I want to look good.

So I just spent $46.00 to get my nails done for the first time in years and they look bad. Now I remember why I stopped going, aside from it being a pricey luxury.

Can you recommend a name of a person who does a good job with nails and where they work?

Thanks,

Alice

Star Nails at 75th / Cactus

Star Nails at 75th / Cactus Rd. in a strip mall on the northwest side of the street does an excellent job. It is run by Vietnamese which I know some are a little leary of since it seems there are one of these type of shops on every other corner, however they do an EXCELLENT job!! Before I decided to give my nails a bit of a rest from acrylics I used to get mine done there all the time and I got so many compliments from strangers about my nails and asking where I got them done. It's a new shop, it's extremely clean and they are super friendly!! The owner is there all the time and takes the time to come and make sure you like the job and how your nails are being done!! I believe they offer 10% off their prices right now as an extended grand opening special. They've been in business for about 3 or 4 months now, which they offered 20% off when they first opened, but I believe they're still doing 10% off all services. They also do waxing. I still go there all the time for my pedicures!! I highly recommend this place ... I've had various people do my nails and pedicures there, men & women and have been extremely happy with all of them!! By the way they do your nails so they look thin and natural and not big and thick/chunky looking, which I've experienced at several other places I've gone!!

What area of town do you

What area of town do you live?

I always hate the first set no matter where i get my nails done. Give them a couple of weeks and maybe someone will recommend a place for you.

If you're in the east

If you're in the east Valley, try Bobbie at Among Friends Salon on Baseline and Alma School. I've used her several times for peds and she's great.

If you are in the East Valley- I highly recommend Pro's Nails on Broadway & Dobson. Yvonne does a fabulous job there. I went there for 6 years but then moved to South Gilbert. Now if you are in South Gilbert, I recommend San Tan Nails off of Market and the 202. (Right in the Circuit City Plaza) They do a pretty darn good job too. I like Amy.

I second what Pep says. I
