great pre-school to get your child ready fro kindergarten. My daughter was enrolled for about a yr and a half learning social skills, colors, etc. gets them used to being in school all day, and reasonably priced when you consider how long they are there.

I used them once in

I used them once in Nashville, TN while attending a conference for work. They were in the same parking lot as my hotel and I was able to use the "drop in" service they offered. I was in a town I was unfamiliar with and they helped to calm my parenting nerves with my first child, as they had an excellent security system. He had a great time and I would definitely use them again!

Been there, done that,

Been there, done that, wouldn't go there again. There was no consistency with the staff so we didn't know from one day to the next whether the same person would be there. A lot of the staff are young, young as in fresh out of high school with minimal babysitting skills if anything .... they're not NAEYC (National Association of Education for Young Children) which I personally feel is important if a place is going to consider themselves a pre"school". I personally felt it was just another one of those "chain" type daycares where you get what you pay for. Keep checking around, check out the NAEYC website www.naeyc.org and look for preschools that have their accreditation, there is a location search option. Good luck!!

When I was looking for a day

When I was looking for a day care for my then 18 month old (now 2) I tried to contact La Petite Academy several times, but never received a call back so I gave up on them.

My son has been in Kindercare for about six months and he loves it (as do we). He's recently been transferred from the 1 year old room to the 2 year old room and he's doing beautifully! After our daughter hits six months (end of this month) we're thinking about putting her in so I can work part-time.

It is better to be hated for what you are, than to be loved for what you are not.

I guess it depends on the individual center. I have been very happy with the La Petite my daughter is in; however, she is in the infant room, not the preschool. But, even in the infant room, the teachers have child development educations, are CPR certified, etc, and there is a sort of curriculum. They have also helped switch her to table foods, learn to drink from a sippy cup, etc. The infant room main teachers have been there the entire 8 months that my daughter has attended.

The preschool is set so the kids have all the tools they need to start kindergarten. Some of the teachers may be fresh out of school, or still in college, but not all. There will be qualified teachers in every room.
