Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knew the law in AZ about a child's last name?
My fiance, my baby's father, is going to change his last name to his middle name. I wanted to know if we could give our son his middle name (soon to be last) as his last name. It would be easier to only have to do one legal name change. I can't find anything to answer this question, and I'm due in 3 weeks.
Woa, sorry if this is kinda confusing. I'm VERY sleep deprived!!

My understanding is that you

My story is the same, when my son was born I gave him his dad's last name. I also found out later on that I could change it (without his consent) since he wasn't on the birth certificate (the father I mean). One word of advice, make sure that he's there when they are doing the birth certificate to sign, otherwise they won't put him on since you aren't married (at least that was my scenario 12 years ago, it might have changed since then).

What about if you and the father of your child were fine when your daughter was born. Now he has done a 180 and you want his last name off of your daughter's birth certificate?
