DANGEROUS baby bottles out there

DesertMom's picture

Studies show that baby bottles made by the major brands Avent, Evenflo, Dr. Brown’s and Disney/First Years leached BPA when heated. That means that BPA is getting in your baby's milk (or your toddler's juice in sippy cups). BPA is a VERY dangerous estrogenic compound that has been found to be toxic at low doses and is linked to breast cancer, early onset of puberty and prostate cancer.

The Breast Cancer Fund web site is hosting a petition where you can easily sign it and send it on to these big baby bottle manufacturers and let your voice be heard! They need to stop manufacturing bottles with BPA for the safety of our children!!

I have heard this about sippy cups too. Is it still a big issue if you don't heat the cup? I only use sippy cups for cow's milk , water and juice, so they are never heated. I wondered if they are still dangerous?

I don't use those brands - I use playtex bottles for baby. Wonder about that too?? Also, when I give my older son milk (ever since he went to the sippy cup) I have never warmed his milk. It surprises many...but drinking cold milk is yummy. I too wonder if not heating it does not 'activate' the cup?? Anyone know?
