It's amazing what people come up with for new moms. My son is only 2 1/2, but so many new things are out for mamma and baby.
I received alot of wonderful things for my baby shower, but now that I've put them all to use, my favorite is the Hooter Hider.

They are great. I remember nursing my son with that darn blanket covering us up. I always slipped and it was sooo hot for him. The hooter hider stays on and the wire allows you to see baby. I never felt super comfortable feeding my son in public because of the blanket problem. The hooter hider has solved that. I even fed my little girl in the stands at a Cardinal game with this! Love it!
If you're looking for a great gift for a new mom, this would be tops on my list.
I also found some cool new bottles for baby. I'll post about that next time!

I use to make these and give them as shower gifts. It is really easy. I agree with the blanket. I felt like I should have a mouth at my forehead to hold it up and to see my baby!

That's a great idea. They look easy to make. You just need to know how to sew a straight line (that's hard for some of us though - me included sometimes). You can find the perfect fabric at the store and make it your own.

This didn't exist when I was nursing...and everytime I see one I've thought - "darn...I missed out on that cool invention."
There's always so many wonderful improvements and new products each year, it's almost enough of a reason for me to try to convince my husband to have another! Just so that we can benefit from all that wasn't there last time! :)
