Has anyone heard of Western Dental?

Because I also need braces; I have a gap (maddonna size) in my front 2 teeth and I hate it!
Last year before my wedding I went to (I won't mention who) a dentist who said she "moves teeth", so she put brackets on them and they did move! for 6 months I kept these on then had them removed two days before my wedding. They were perfectly closed and I was so happy!
Ha, until the next morning I woke up the day before my wedding and the gap was back - but bigger!
I was horrified! So she got me in that day and "bonded them" together it looked terrible! i didn't smile my whole wedding day, anyway they later came unbonded the next day!
So, anyway I can't afford to pay $5,000 up front and my credit is not all that great, so I seen on a commerical about Western Dental and how they take payments for braces? I don't know, I haven't checked into this yet.
Has anyone had any experience with them or knows a dentist that will take monthly payments regardless of my credit history?
Help! Sick of this gap!

thanks,

Sashaymom

I have a friend that used Western Dental and made monthly payments to them. I know her credit is not the best, but I am not sure how she set up the payments. I know they were willing to work with her though so I don't think that should be a problem. Her teeth look great although she only needed the braces for a short time.

Give them a shot, it can't

Give them a shot, it can't hurt. I think they have various locations around the valley. Maybe check out their website too (if they have one) and that might have some more info. on the payment plans they offer.

Ask about payment plans

Ask about payment plans where you are going. My parents made monthly payments, and I'm pretty sure that is normal. Do what is best for you, and ask around about prices and payment plans. Good luck

Shipley Orthodontics. They have been wonderful for my daughter and I see lots of different ages going in. I had to work out payment arrangements and they were very accommodating. If you go tell them Kelli sent you because I will get a referral fee to help reduce my balance - as will you if you choose them and refer people.

Let me know if you want more info, they have a website.

Another mom just posted a story about her daughter needing braces and the high cost. Somebody mentioned services available at AT Still Dental School that included braces at a huge discount. The subject of the post is:

how much for these braces???
by workingmom.Lisa

I asked for more info about the dental school program, services, and whether they do the same discount program for adults.

Might be an interesting convo to watch!

Cheers!

I know a few people who have

I know a few people who have used western dental and they have good prices and really flexible appointment times. My sister goes to western dental because of our coverage at work, it's not the greatest. They offer payment plans to anyone not only because of credit but if you don't have thousands to drop at one time. I am taking my daughter soon for a consultation. I will have two kids in braces at the same time.

All the orthodontists I

All the orthodontists I "shopped" took payments. They had you pay a down payment, then monthly payments. Most don't charge any interest and I don't think they looked at credit, but I'm not positive.

We used Dr. Clark Jones in Glendale. He was great.

I certainly wouldn't refer

I certainly wouldn't refer my worst enemy to Western Dental, in my opinion the place is disorganized and they try to bill you for things that you don't want or need.

Have you ever had a tooth pulled when your mouth wasn't numb? I told the dentist that my mouth wasn't numb and he still wouldn't listen to me. That evil monster pulled my tooth anyway and it was so extremely painful that I almost passed out and the room was spinning.

These people don't care about the patients and what ever watered down version of nova cane they used didn't work.

I'm sure the sick sadistic dentist had a good laugh over my pain.
