After researching, we've decided to immunize our daughter for Measles, Mumps and Rubella separately.
Is anyone else out there doing this? Can you please share your pediatrician's info? I've been thinking about looking for a new ped for a while, but this is the turning point.
I'm running into a problem getting the actual vaccines. Apparently, doctors must purchase vaccines in lots of 10. Since the majority of parents want MMR in one shot instead of 3, a lot of doctors won't order them individually.
I am able to get ahold of them through a pharmacy, but it is pricey and my insurance company won't reimburse me because the doctor's office didn't first purchase it (dumb, I know)

I would look into a general
I would look into a general family practice if this is the way you want to go. Most pediatricians are going to order the combo shot, because it is most efficient for them, but a family practice may be more likely to have the individual vaccines because they would be providing boosters to adults as well.
Or at least that was the impression I got when I had to get a tetnus shot a few years back (which is part of the DPT shot that is given to children).
As for a peditrician, if you'd rather your kids be seen by a pediatrician for other things, where in the valley do you live?
My dr. at Pediatrix was
My dr. at Pediatrix was willing to do this, but he said it is difficult to get the separate vaccines because they are on back order from their supplier. We opted to skip it until our son turns 2, or until the separate vaccines become available from the supplier.

I have been wondering this
I have been wondering this too. I will not be giving my baby the MMR shot, I want to delay it but will that effect getting her into daycare? My current daycare provider actually did not ask for any shot records.

My understanding is that
My understanding is that there is a waiver form you can sign. This is what parents that don't vaccinate at all do. Kids can still go to daycare and public school with this waiver. I'm not sure of all the details since I do vaccinate.
Just want to update in case
Just want to update in case anyone else is looking for individual M, M & R vaccines.
After going through about 20 offices I finally found one!
Paradise Pediatrics. They are on Shae and Tatum.
And thanks for all your replies.
Any pedi in the southeast
Any pedi in the southeast valley, Chandler/Gilbert area? I do not want to change pedi's but I am wondering if he is going to turn his nose up to my request to delay the MMR. He does not believe there is a link between autism and vaccines.

Most doctors feel that way.
Most doctors feel that way. Apparently, there are no definitive studies that actually link autism and vaccines. But at the same time, because there is no definitive cause for autism I don't think they can say 100% that is isn't the case. Or that a vaccine doesn't set off autism in a child already pre-disposed. Who knows what the truth is?? I surely don't. My personal feeling is that if I can still vaccinate (which I do believe does more good than harm), but do it in a safer way I'm all for it.
I don't like leaving our current ped. I think that if it's something I feel this strongly about, they should be honoring my request.
I know vaxing is a touchy subject. I don't want anyone to be offended by anything I've said. Please don't think I'm trying to push my views on anyone else. It's really up to all of us as parents to make the choices we feel are best for our children.
While I support parents'
While I support parents' rights to decide on immunizations, be careful. There is a small outbreak of measles in Pinal County in Southern AZ. There are more and more parents opting out of immunizations due to safety concerns, but it is also a safety situation due to the higher number of unimmunized children. Additionally, many children entering the country illegally are not current on immunizations. Weigh all conditions, and choose wisely.
I took my daughter to an
I took my daughter to an office called "The Children's Doctor" and she saw Dr. Keramat Behshad. It was several years ago, but he did her shots separately. He said that he does the first ones separately because if the child has a reaction to one, they can tell very easily which one it is. I believe they do booster shots together in one shot as long as the child did not have a reaction to the separate shots the first time around. The office is located in a scary area but Dr. Behshad is so nice and I really trust him. He was my doctor when I was little :) The office is definitely lacking in the "bells and whistles" department (I don't think it has been redecorated since I was a kid). So you may not want that to be your new permanent pediatrician, but it may be worth looking into to have your child vaccinated in the manner in which you prefer. They are located at 17th avenue and Glendale. Their phone number is 602-864-0211.
