Just wanted to say a friendly hello. We are new to the Chandler area. Just moved from Central Phoenix. I know it's not that far, but still new. I have 2 children, 4 and 1, girl & boy. Is there anything that we can do around this area. I would love to meet new ppl in the area, and well i'm a very big ppl person, so is my daughter, but my son is soooo shy. We havent been very social, but I'm hoping to change that. Any suggestions on good places to go to have fun and interact as a family.??

What part of chandler are
What part of chandler are you in? North or South Chander. Makes a big difference in what is near you to do.
If you are in North Chandler, there are several good parks in the area, plus, you are close to Tempe, we take advantage of Tempe's offerings quite a bit.
I don't really know what's in South Chandler other than Tumbleweed park, as that is where the Ostrich festival is (which, in my opinion, was more fun when it was downtown).
Desert Breeze Park in
Desert Breeze Park in Chandler is a great place for families - I'm always meeting new people there. Just casual conversations but fun for the time I'm there with the kids.

It definately depends what
It definately depends what part of Chandler you are in. The city is very spread out. Chandler has many nice parks, so with spray pads (great for the coming heat.) The public pools all have kiddie areas and a free swim once a week during the summer. Desert Breeze park as mentioned in another post is nice. It has a carosel and train ($2 I think, under 2 or 3 ride free with adult). Also, there are free concerts and some programs during parts of the year, some of which kids might enjoy.
Check out the city's website and look for the Break Time magazine (I think paper copies are available at Fry's). It will list all parks & pools and what ammenities are at each.
