I love my children and husband, I really do. But sometimes, I want to run away. Is that normal?
Before kids, marriage, etc. I thought I was busy...but now, that past life seems like a five star vacation. There are days that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world and other days where, I just want to get in my car, drive away and never look back. The level of patience that one needs to maintain while raising kids and dealing with everyday situations can be unbearable. What do you do? How do you deal with it?
The Dentist recently said that I grind my teeth at night. I wonder if this is from my threatening my kids when they are not being respectful or just dealing with stress in general.
Regardless, this Mother's Day is gonna be all about me...for once...hopefully. My husband already has gotten the "heads up" that I am attempting to have an "all about me day" and is trying due his best in allowing it to happen. Here's the plan...
I am going to sleep in. I don't care if my kids don't get dressed. I am going to get a massage. I am going to soak in the tub for an hour, without interruption. I am going to eat whatever I want and not worry about the calorie intake and how much cellulite "My Day" is going to add to my tree truck thighs..I am going to take a nap. I am going to have a glass of wine, or two...or three in the middle of the day. And I am going to watch some sappy movie that will make me cry my eyes out since I am PMSing!
Now let's see if it happens...
Have a wonderful Mother's Day! Don't forget to take some time for you and remember...

I want Mother's Day all
I want Mother's Day all about me too! With an additional bonus - I've told all 4 of my kids, I want NO FIGHTING AMONGST THEM FOR 24 HOURS!
Do you think I'll get that? Probably not! haha!
I agree!!! That is the BEST
I agree!!! That is the BEST Mother's Day EVER!! Break out the wine glass that rarely gets any use and Lifetime Movie Channel, here I come . . . LOL!
Exactly! Why do some
Exactly! Why do some husbands think it's about materialistic things on Mother's Day. I want my Mother's Day to consist of whatever I want to do that day and no whinning, complaining, fighting, arguments, cleaning or cooking! That is my ideal "gift" Happy Mother's Day to all !
There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one!
I used to love to take long
I used to love to take long drives by myself, too, before I was married and had kids. Now, just going shopping alone for a couple hours is a treat. It's also about as long as I can go before I start to get anxious. I use to get more "me" time when I stayed home with the kids, but now that I am working again, I tend to fill up my free hours trying to fit in time with everybody who needs mommy time. I miss the long drives, but honestly, I think if I had the opportunity to take one now, I'd probably fall asleep at the wheel!
Enjoy your fabulous mom days!

I think Mother's Day is
I think Mother's Day is wonderful but I also think we deserve it more than once a year. I'm not talking the flowers, gifts and breakfast in bed (as nice as those are) but having time just for ourselves on a daily basis. For me, my special time is being able to run every day. Our house isn't always the cleanest and sometimes it's soup & sandwiches for dinner but my husband & kids know that my running time is my special "mom" time. As moms we deserve (and need) to take time for ourselves every day, whether it's to exercise, read a book, or catch up with a friend.

My family and I eat out
My family and I eat out probably about once every two months if that. I'm excited because I want to go to a fabulous breakfast place, and I think because Mother's Day is going to be busy we are going on Saturday. At this point I don't have to worry about fighting or any real rule breaking since my baby is only 18 months, and she is generally very very good, but it will be a real treat to get out.

Lisa_SchneiderCipriano I
Lisa_SchneiderCipriano I like you, I like you alot. Does anything make a mom feel worse than loosing it with you kid and then you look at their little missing their front teeth face smile and feell like you've just won the "World's Rottenest Mom Award!"
I to look forward to time to just be me. Not a mom or a wife or a cook or a maid or a....... But when I get it I feel terribly selfish or just plain miss the little turkey's.
My kids have been so happy all week long doing Mother's Day stuff at school. I just can't wait to get their gifts on Sunday!
Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's.
Remember though: when your kids are sleeping and you look at them was it worth it to get so upset about ????? I try to remember that during the day and it SOMETIMES keeps me from getting so upset.
