Just looking to build a network of like minded women in Ahwatukee. Any pregnant ladies out there interested in fitness, networking, exchanging ideas?

First, let me tell you that

First, let me tell you that I struggled with the same when I was expecting! I never had the opportunity to hook up with an real groups, but did find the following opportunities as great resources when our youngest was small (he was the only one born in Ahwatukee).

The Ironwood Branch Library on Chandler & 46th St (I think) has story time for itty bitties all the way up to 5 yrs old. You can sign up on their website to receive event updates via email.

The Border's at 51st St s/o Ray had storytime on Fridays. It used to be at 10 am - that might have changed. There were lots of mommies with little ones up to preschool age.

Raising Arizona Kids and Active Moms (both free mags you can pick up at places such as the grocery stores) have great activity listings and some times there are calendar items for mommy groups.

There's also a group that my neighbor belonged to for a while. It's called MOMS of Ahwatukee and they met 1x at Cracker Barrel at 1-10 and Chandler for breakfast, if I recall. She said she really enjoyed it. They frequently have an ad in the classified section of the Ahwatukee Foothills Newspaper that's delivered in our community. They have particular contacts based on the exact location of your residence.

I have also seen ads for church-based mommy groups in that paper, too.

I found that YMCA and the Pecos Community Center have awesome mommy&me classes, from itty bitty to toddler. I believe you have to have a membership to attend classes at YMCA; however, the Pecos Community Center offers a great variety of classes and the prices are extremely reasonable - especially swimming. Pecos also has a great park for kids and I met a lot of mommies from around my neighborhood that way, too.

Good luck!
