I cannot decide what hospital i want to give birth at. I live in North Scottsdale around the Pavilions and need one within a 30 min drive. Please give me some feed back on your hospital and why you liked it so much... if you did. I did spend some time at banner gateway on Higley and the 60 and fell in love with it. It was brand new, clean, the nurses seemed like they actually wanted to be there, and not to mention the cafe food was delicious. The only problem is that is a 40min drive away from my home, and knowing me i wont know the difference between a stomach ache and labor contractions which is why i need something close. Thanks so much i appreciate ever response.

shouldn't you see which
shouldn't you see which hospitals your OBGYN is associated with?

you've got to find out where
you've got to find out where your OB and your pediatrician will go. the latter isn't as important because the hospital will have a ped. available

I had a really good
I had a really good experience delivering at Scottsdale Shea. I actually live in Chandler but my OB delivered there. It turned out to be worth the drive and the staff there was great. I stayed there for 5 days because it was my 3rd C-section and I'd had a difficult time with my previous one. My other babies were born in TX, so I don't know about any other hospitals here.
Good luck!

I would definitely get
I would definitely get something close to your area. I delivered at Banner Baywood because that was the only hospital my GYN would deliver at. Indeed, I had the best experience. The nurses were checking on me every so often, and they would ask me was there anything else I needed. I just couldn't had made it without all their generous offers. We gave the nurses chocolates just for the great appreciation we had for them.
I had a doctor appointment at 9am and she told me my water could break at any second. I didn't even make it home, and it broke, so you may not have any contractions. I was feeling fine at the time. Thank goodness I was only 5 minutes away from the hospital.

If your dr. delivers at
If your dr. delivers at Scottsdale Shea that's where I recommend. I had my daughter there and would drive the 45 min. again if I had another child. It was an awesome experience and great labor and delivery department. Private rooms (huge rooms) which is a big plus in my book and you deliver in your room (another plus). Whirlpool baths, DVD players, fridge/micro in room. Just an overall great experience!!!
Yes, Scottsdale Shea is
Yes, Scottsdale Shea is wonderful. Also, they do facials and manicures/pedicures in your room, if you so desire (and if you've been though labor, you DESERVE it!) Best of luck!
Scottsdale Shea was one of
Scottsdale Shea was one of the hospital my doctors practiced delivered at and I highly recommend it. We actually live in Peoria and made the drive for 2 babies. Every nurse was just fantastic, the rooms are great. We loved the entire experience!

Scottsdale Osborn is where I
Scottsdale Osborn is where I had 3 babies. My OB has privileges at both Scottsdale Shea and Osborn, and he recommended Osborn over Shea. He thinks Shea puts too much emphasis on the wood floors and decor of the maternity suite and that the nurses are more inexperienced than the staff at Osborn. He confidentially told me he prefers Osborn over Shea due to the "Scottsdale-ization" of Shea...young nurses thinking it is glamorous to work at the "nicer" hospital, but the more experienced, career OBGYN nurses were at Osborn. I took his advice, considering he should know! I am sure either Scottsdale hospital would be great, and 2 of my kids were hospitalized at Shea with great care.
I am glad you enjoyed Osborn
I am glad you enjoyed Osborn - both my daughters were born there. However, my very good friend was my labor and delivery nurse with my first and honored guest, friend, for my second. She is now in charge of the nurses for Shea in the labor and delivery area. The comments you make are from a male Doctor and what he thinks. Not the women who have given birth at Shea. You are right, both campus's are great.

You really do need to check
You really do need to check with your OB. Some only deliver at one hospital. I delivered at Banner Desert (Dobson/ US 60) and would definitely recommend it. I delivered shortly after a shift change and the nurse that was with me all day stuck around to see me through. The food they give you is pretty good too (and generous portions). You might want a hospital closer to you than 30 minutes though. Some women make multiple trips to Triage before delivering (problems or false labor) and you probably don't want that much car time.
thank you sooooo much for
thank you sooooo much for all your feed back, I guess so far the one that everyone likes best is the scottsdale shea, so im going to go take a tour tomorrow, thanks sooo much again!
