I am new to the forum and wanted to say "Hi!" to everyone. My name is Michelle, I'm 26 and have been married to DH for 5 years. We are expecting our first (hopefully sticky) bean in October. We aren't in AZ yet, but will be moving there at the end of May, beginning of June. Anyways.....hello again!

I had a miscarriage in September and I am hoping this time is a successful pregnancy = *sticky bean* Sorry, I thought that was a common term used in the pregnancy forums.

Welcome!!! What part of the valley are you moving to? Let me know if you have any questions b/c I'm stay at home mom but I also do real estate.. You will LOVE AZ!!! There is a great mommy group on the west side where I live in Litchfield Park. We all have new babies and we are all pretty young and active... It's fun!

I would love any advice you could give me. My husband and I are debating whether or not to buy or rent. We will be using the VA loan, but I'm nervous that we need to build our credit a little more and also save up for a larger down payment. I am just a little overwhelmed by the idea of buying our first house!!

I found it so very easy to make wonderful friendships out here (vs. places on the East Coast where I lived before), b/c so many of us are transplants...people all seem willing to invest in meeting people and welcoming newcomers into their circles.
Good luck with the move!

Hi Michelle, and welcome to
Hi Michelle, and welcome to both the forum, and soon to be Arizona :)
Don't worry; I was (and still am) part of an online expecting club, so knew what you meant when you said "sticky bean" ;)
My name is Jennifer, and I'm an old lady compared to you at 36! My DH and I have been together for 13 years, and have a 3 1/2 year old son. We've lived in AZ for 7 years now; quite a difference from the Chicago area we grew up in ;)
Hope you like it here (again, both the forum and Arizona), and sending lots of ((((sticky)))) vibes your way :)
Hi Michelle, Welcome to AZ.
Hi Michelle,
Welcome to AZ. My name is Tiffany and I am 25. I have been married for almost 5 years. We have a 3 year old daughter and are currently ttc as I had a recent miscarriage as well :( I am also fairly new to this site. What part of the valley will you be moving to?
We have been looking in the
We have been looking in the Surprise area, but who knows. It may change when we get there and look into housing. We will be there for 4 years on a controlled tour through the Air Force. We lived in Arizona before coming overseas, so we kinda know what it's like. But I am sure it has changed a lot since we were there 4 years ago! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
P.S. Does anyone know about the hospital at Luke AFB? I was wondering if they had a maternity ward (and hoping they don't!) TIA!

Surprise is nice. There are
Surprise is nice. There are so many new houses being built in the west valley right now. You can probably find a steal of a deal on a spec home. I recently visited a friend in Surprise and was shocked at how developed it is becoming. I live in Goodyear and absolutely love it. It is not far from Luke either, it may be worth looking into as a backup option if you don't find something you like in Surprise. I found a great website where you can browse homes for rent or for sale - http://www.aznb.com/
Surprise is a great place to
Surprise is a great place to live. My husband and I are both stationed at Luke and I think the driving distance is perfect.
Luke doesn't have a maternity ward so you get to go off base :) I had my daughter at Del Webb and had a wonderful experience.
Let me know if you need any other info.

I will have to check into Del Webb. We are hoping to *sneak* into Arizona a little early to look into doctors and houses. We are debating whether to rent or buy right now. I am worried we won't be able to afford it and a down payment might be too much since I am not working anymore. The joys of PCS'ing!

You're definitely PCSing at
You're definitely PCSing at the right time if you decide to buy. There are so many houses available and the prices are very low.
