OB/GYN in NW or North Central Phx???

phoenixgrlkim1's picture

I have a doctor (general practice) but it suddenly occured to me I should probably get an OB/GYN if I plan on having a baby. Does anyone have anyone they like in the north area (we are at Deer Valley / 35th ave) area? Also, I live really close to PV Hospital, Banner Arrowhead, Banner T-bird, and John C. Lincoln...who's delivered where and what did you like and dislike about it. I'm not opposed to any hospital and this will be my third delivery so I know the ends and outs of what to do. I want a hospital within a 20-30 minute drive is all (my last child it took about 35 minutes to get ther since it was on an army base) Any suggestions?

She's probably too far for you, but Ernestine Bustamante Roman is the bomb. I was miserable because of a boatload of benign tumors, and my PCP was recommending a hysterectomy; Dr. BR offered a wide range of options, and helped me choose the right procedure for me. I got to keep all my parts, and (for better or worse) will go through menopause naturally. I don't have periods any more, but I don't have a mustache, either. We did it at Chandler Regional Medical Center, and I felt more like I was at a spa than a hospital. Up until I met her, I absolutely hated dealing with ob/gyn issues, because the doctor's I'd had weren't very sensitive to the fact that I'm a spinster, if you catch my drift. She's got a great sense of humor, which I think anybody who's poking around down there should have. Her insurance company mandated that she give me a pregnancy test every time I came in, and we always laughed about it: no star rising in the night sky.

I've got some family and friends who've had multiple deliveries, and they tell me that it gets easier ... still sounds to me like shooting a watermelon through a straw, and there's always a guy running around the waiting room with a big head -- like he did something. But hey, y'all make 'em, and I get to love 'em.

Hi! If you want to deliver

Hi! If you want to deliver at PV hospital, go to Caring For Women. Their entire staff of OB/GYN's (and NP's) are women, which always makes me feel more comfortable. I didn't want some strange man being on call the night of my delivery! They are absolutely wonderful. I had Dr. Doan deliver both of my babies, she's great. They are on 40th St and Bell, 602-482-2929. Good luck =)

I go to Dr Sawyer who delivers at both T-bird and Arrowhead. He also works with fertility issues. He's a great doctor, very calming and I love the nurses there.

His number is 623-412-9122 option 3 takes you to the front desk.
