In a couple months, I will have my third baby. I say this with a mix of joy and fear. I am thrilled that another sweet, cuddly newborn will enter our lives. But on the other hand, I dread the sleepless nights and absolute chaos that will consume our home!
My oldest child is 7 and attends school all day. My other child is 3 and getting more independent. He plays by himself for brief periods and he is almost potty trained. Now I will be going backwards in a sense, starting all over with a helpless little being.
Still, because this is my third, I am fully aware that time with small children does fly. I keep thinking that in 6 years, ALL of my "babies" will be in school full-time. When I look at it that way, it seems easier, even precious... this time with young children at home.

Congratulations on your next
Congratulations on your next addition. Don't you just love how a baby smells - baby head. Yummy :)
There were times when my girls were younger and I had to stop and enjoy the moment. I found myself at different times looking forward to when they would be older. I would stop and think that I needed to enjoy what was happening now because the time would be gone before I knew it. They won't want me to hold them when they are teenagers or hold their hands walking across the street.
There is a poem that I love called The Station by Robert Hastings. Check it out sometime. It is about enjoying the here and now instead of always looking ahead.

Thank you. I wanted to go
Thank you. I wanted to go find "The Station" online right after you mentioned it. I love it!!

Time flies so quickly.
Time flies so quickly. Definitely enjoy this moment's chaos. I think it gets harder as they get older - mostly because they start making their own choices. So cherish that you can better control them now compared to teen years (which I'm dreading in many ways). Plus, you become an expert multitasker.
And think of this: Your kids are nicely spaced apart, so you won't have to chance two sets of diapers.:)
Congrats on your expected
Congrats on your expected third baby. I can totally relate to the joys and fears of it all. Please chime in after baby and let us know how things are going. I also have to remember to cherish the moments with my kids, they grow tooooooooooooooo fast! =(
