Hello! Have you looked to

Hello! Have you looked to see if you qualify for Ahcccs? If not I would check out their qualifications at http://www.ahcccs.state.az.us/site/
Its a long process to get accepted but once you do its awesome. Espicially if your a low income family. Most doctors accepts ahcccs insurance. I would check it out.

Other than that, I'm not sure considering i have been on Ahcccs since before i had my son.

Absolutely apply for AHCCCS.

Absolutely apply for AHCCCS. Just make sure you follow their instructions carefully. Once you submit your application you should receive a confirmation in the mail that your application was received. If you do not get this confirmation within one month, CALL THEM and ask if they have your application. You should get processed pretty quickly and at least find out if you qualify within that time.

Susan & Neil Hampton have three spectacular children, Alexander, Isabel and David, plus one amazing teenager, Eric. Susan does community outreach for arizonamoms.com.

Yes, I agree with others,

Yes, I agree with others, AHCCCS--Arizona's Medicaid program is a great, quality program and provides health insurance to about one million people in our state.

If I were you though, I would apply for KidsCare. KidsCare is a program managed by AHCCCS, but the application process is completely by mail and you typically don't have to go through an interview in-person. KidsCare also has a program for parents, "KidsCare Parents", if you also need coverage.

The website is www.azkidscare.gov. The application and qualification information are all there for you.

If you need immediate health services, you can also try your local community health centers. A directory of those are on the Association of Community Health Centers website at: http://www.aachc.org/membersl.php

Be careful if you have to apply for health insurance in the private market. It can be costly and the coverage often doesn't cover everything! Seriously. I had to get a policy for my daughter when she was an infant and it had a limit on immunizations!! Even though all babies need them!

Good luck and let us know what happens.

If you don't qualify for

If you don't qualify for ACCCHS, try looking for insurance online. We bought insurance through ehealthinsurance.com when we needed short term insurance when my husband changed jobs. They also have long term insurance and the rates were affordable!

I have been an insurance

I have been an insurance agent for a while. The best insurance I have found is through AFLAC.They have many different kind of plans.Costs are inexpensive. You can call or email the Aflac office near you by typing AFLAC and your zip code in google search, and it will bring up the offices near you, or at least a number you can call. They do have dental also. Also, AFLAC's rating for claims is number one above all the other's. They pay more claims every year than the top 10 insurance companies combined. They have a AA+ rating. I pray the best for you.
