I am shopping around for car insurance. This is not for me but for my boyfriend. I hate saying it, but he has a dui that he got 2 years ago. It has been such a pain having to deal with this. Well he finally has gotten his car and license and now I am looking for a car insurance company for him. I have worked for American family and im looking for a company that maybe someone may know of that is cheaper. I have insurance thru farmers, and i am getting a quote from them today, but i want to know of other companys other than the big name ones. any recommendations will help. Thank you!

This is a big name company,
This is a big name company, but it may be worth your time. My husband and I switched to AIG, and ended up saving $1200 over a year...$100 less each month for more than decent insurance. We originally had Farmers.
I know their commercials advertise average savings $350 or so, so we were shocked.

Just be careful....the
Just be careful....the cheapest rate up front, may not end up being the cheapest rate long term.
Ask about what happens to the premium if there is one single claim on the policy? What about 2 claims? In just 5 years? Or even in just 10 years?
Be careful of companies that charge very little to get you in the door, but jack up the rates the minute you have a tiny $1,000 claim. You might end up better with the State Farm's of the world....who won't raise rates at all with just one claim.
