I thought this was pretty unique. From my understanding more than half of the stimulus money will be in the form of direct deposit. I expect mine to be direct deposited but even if I was going to recieve a paper check I would not cash it in for a gift card, not even for 10%. I rather have the money in my bank account.

10% barely covers the tax.
10% barely covers the tax. So I think we will stick with paying off the Sears card and some other ones.
I can't see myself shopping
I can't see myself shopping Sears, even with the percentage off. I've had terrible luck buying a dryer and two lawnmowers there. My dryer lasted 4 years, died after the extended warranty expired (I will tell you it was less than a month after, and I'm quite annoyed) and similarly two lawnmowers did the same within two years of buying, so I'm spending my money elsewhere.
I'm sad that I have to buy a dryer. I'd rather spend my check on a short vacation and put the rest in savings.

I heard about this too. 10%
I heard about this too. 10% is such a small discount - it's hard to believe they're going to get a lot of business from this. We plan to put our check into savings.

That's interesting. I think
That's interesting. I think it's better to put that cash into savings. We are a nation of debt. I would perhaps do the Fry's one if I felt I would not purchase things I would have otherwise needed and if I could take the same amount and put it into a savings account.
