Tips for success in business

LaraPiu's picture

I think there are a lot of women on this site that work from home or have their own business. If this is you, what would you say is one key to success?

I think the key is deciding what you are willing to sacrifice for your job or business. It's tough to be a working mom, and no job is ever as easy as you think it will be.
When you work, other things will have to go by the wayside because you just can't do it all. If you decide what part of kid time, family time or me time you can do without in order to work full/part time, it makes it a lot easier.

I would say one key to success is recognizing where your strengths are and is your occupation utilizing them? If you are by nature reserved and not outgoing Sales would be a poor match, but if your job worked with clients/customers on a one to one basis then your personality would not be fighting your career objectives. I think Lara Piu's statment about integrity is very true and not stated enough.
