Yesterday I discovered that a bird had gotten through the mesh of my roof and made her way through to my kitchen wall. Apparently, she (mama bird) had found her way to the light right above my kitchen sink. She decided to put her nest right there (I can see it through the frosted lens.) Earlier this week I thought I had heard birds chirping, but I thought they were just outside - on the other side of the wall. Well, come to find out the chirping was coming from inside the wall itself. I have no idea how mama bird found her way to my light fixture area. So needless to say I was pretty astonished (to say the least) I started doing an internet search for 'bird removal' - I found several companies advertising 'pest control'. So I called over a dozen. Surprise...surprise...bird removal people only work M-F from 9am-5pm. My call was at 6pm. So the soonest anyone could come out was today. The lady came at noon and was just as astonished by the matter as I was. She said she's never seen anything like this before (and I was thinking 'yes...but I have to live with it until someone removes it'). So, she made a few calls and found another co-worker who could remove the mama bird (and yes - her choir of baby birds) from my kitchen lighting area. I have decided to call the bird remover guy my 'bird whisperer'. The soonest he can get to my home is tomorrow afternoon. So - tomorrow it will be day #3 that we are living with birds in our wall. Out of the many businesses I called yesterday can you believe only 1 company called me back to help me remove a living bird (or group of them in this case) from my wall. It's so sad - could the other dozen companies might have thought about calling me back to remove a bird (a living creature) in a few cases I had even spoken with a person on the other line and they 'reassured me someone would get back to me today.' If I would have called about anything else not living (like my plumbing) I would have had someone out here that same day. What is up with companies these days and their sense of responsibility with nature?? Any ideas?

Oh my goodness!!! That's
Oh my goodness!!! That's CRAZY!!!!! My heart is pounding just thinking about what you are dealing with. I just called my husband into the room to "remove" a moth flying around, nevermind a BIRD!!!
It's scary to think that no one responded. I guess removing a tweety bird family isn't that important.
I can't stop asking myself "what would I do???"
I'll tell you one thing though, if that happened to me I would have to get someone, ANYONE in there by whatever means necessary (sell my kidney on the blackmarket??), otherwise it wouldn't matter because I would be in a hospital somewhere having a coronary!
Bugs and birds scare the begeezus out of me!
We need to spread the word about this Bird Whisperer, just in case it ever happens to anyone else!
Goodness that is amazing how
Goodness that is amazing how they got in there. It's gross that the companies did not call you back. I mean, I can see if they just called to say that it's not the kind of thing they can do, but at least call back and let you know or make a suggestion. I am glad you were loving enough to be concerned however!
I'm curious if you called
I'm curious if you called Bebee's...and if they were the company that was responsive.
We've used them for bee and pigeon (as in, a BIRD) issues and they are wonderful!
Just this Monday, our tenant at our rental house called us at 5 p.m. to say that our home had bees...We called Bebee's and they were there by 6 p.m. to treat it.
....and yes, they got rid of our pigeons...and unlike other companies, they guaranteed that if they were to come back, they'd treat it for free.
Good luck tomorrow!
