I moved here from another state and my friends in that state all have myspace.. I held off for the longest time but I finally got one.. I love it now b/c it's how I keep up with all my friends from other states. Plus people I haven't talked to in yrs. It's been great. I totally have it private so only people that know me can access it. I can put new pics of the kids on it or cute pics of my husband and I. I never tell any of my mommy friends here that I have one b/c I'm afriad they will look at me and think I'm to old for one.. I just turned 33. So what do you think? How old is to old for a myspace???

I feel the same way. I
I feel the same way. I opened one just to contact someone I had lost along the way since college, but my page is still undeveloped. I opted for a blog on blogspot instead. But no, I don't think you are too old....
I have a myspace and
I have a myspace and facebook account. I too use these sites to keep in touch with friends and family in other states. It's been great. I've caught up with cousins and friends who live on the east coast and overseas!!
Mine is also set to private and i share pictures of my kids with them and they do the same with me and other friends.
I like it. Oh, and i am just a couple of years older than you. ;o)

I use Facebook, and I'm 43.
I use Facebook, and I'm 43. Maybe 40 is the magic number to move from Myspace to Facebook (just kidding!). I used to have my own website, but it was a pain in the tush to keep managing the security for it. Like other posters, I don't want pics of my family floating around too freely in cyberspace. I selected Facebook because most of my friends and family use it. I have to admit, sometimes I feel a little silly giving friends a cyber-hug, or poking them back, but it's still fun!
I have a myspace account. I
I have a myspace account. I actually have a funny story about it also. I first started mine when I was 27 and it was because my ex fiance said, "this is so cool you can check out people that went to your high school." I thought neat and I looked on mine and at first didn't see anyone I recognized lol. So I never did anything with it until about 6 or 7 months later after we split and a guy I was dating said, "do you have a myspace account so I can add you." From that point on I was hooked. He helped me redo my page and since I have reconnected with about 4 people I went to high school with, and all my current friends which some live out of state. i'm now 30 and I still love it!
I don't keep my page private and that's because I started a mommy group in hopes to make some more friends (a lot of my friends out here are single and not moms and I want to be able to talk and relate to life with people) but I do let it be known that I'm married, happy and only looking to meet friends.

I really dont think anyone
I really dont think anyone is to old for myspace. I am 25 years old and I have one, it is a great way to stay incontact with all my friends and family. My mother who just turned 52 even has a myspace page.
I'm 27 and I just opened up
I'm 27 and I just opened up mine so I could contact a few High School friends. Everyone seems to have one. I also talk to my mom who has one on there. We share pictures since it's free. We love it.

No Biggie! I have one and
No Biggie! I have one and I'm 36. i dont plan on changing that...because it really is a great way to stay in touch and show photos, info about my life to family and friends in other states. there is nothing wrong with it...good for you!

I have both. I started
I have both. I started my-space to keep tabs on my daughter and her friends when she was in high school. It was something that as leaders at church use to keep up with our kids.. I am very surprised at what some of these kids have posted in pictures and the comments, that everyone can read. . I am even more surprised that the parents of these kids continue to turn a blinded eye and not want to know or believe the stuff that they have been presented with. I have told parents all the different ways to find out if their kids have one. But alot of them say "no" I asked my kid and he/she said they don''t have one. I myself know for certain they do, all I can do is make the parent aware.
I have a couple of friends that won't do my-space, so I talk to them on Facebook.
" just my Opinion"
I'm 25 and I have an acct.
I'm 25 and I have an acct. I think it's a great tool to stay in touch with people, especially since I'm active duty military and it seems like we're always moving, leaving friends behind.

It's funny that you posted
It's funny that you posted this....my sister (she's 45) was just out here visiting me for a week and she has a myspace, and a lot of her freinds do, too....and at first I was like ????? what the hell, isn't that for kids?
She uses it to see what her kids are up to, chat with freinds, etc...................it did seem to me she spends way too much time on it (she brought her laptop and was on it everyday while she was here) and should be doing other things like cleaning or other household stuff in her spare time, but hey, that's her business and I don't judge. I don't think I'd get one because I don't have the enerygy to keep up with it, and my husband thinks it's a big meat market and would probably think I was using it to meet men. It's not worth the hassle it would create for me.
I am actually spending less time online these days...today is the first time I have been on for more than a minute or two in a while.
This is only my personal
This is only my personal opinion. I'm in my 40's. I have teenagers. I have a Myspace account solely for the reason to keep abreast of their activity. How old is too old? You're never too old to have an account but the question is, to me, how appropriate is it for older people, especially Moms, to be using Myspace and other sites as a tool to meet men. Sure...most folks say and probably do have some friends they can stay in touch with via this method, but...what happened to the old ways? I say, again my opinion, that "friends" on Myspace is misleading to say the least. I know women who are absolutely obsessed with this, staying online at any moment of their day that they can. I feel these are desperate people reaching out for attention any way they can get it. Odd thing is: I've not met one person yet who has actually formed a lasting real relationship out of the deal. It's pitiful really. Women should think a little harder about their children and about consequences of their actions. I can certainly understand it from a teenage perspective but grown women...and men?! "Look at me". That's all it is....a cry for attention.
