I am 35 years old today and I feel so good.
When I was 20ish 35 seemed to be the starting of "the end", but now that I am hear I see that it is the just the best place to be!
I have gone through so much and changed so much from my teens and 20's, I finally am feeling comfortable with who I am.
I grew up so angry and PO'd and I never knew what it was from until 2 years ago when I found out I had been abused as an 8 year old. No one protected me and I grew up hating my body and myself and pretty much everyone else because of what happened. The kids in my junior high sexually harassed me. At the time it was just called teasing and I am so happy that behavior is no longer acceptable. I picked abusive boyfriends who abused me either mentally or physically until I was 22 years old and had been hurt enough to at least stop making those choices, but I still didn't know were the rage was coming from until I remembered the abuse 2 years ago. I have had the best therapist for over a year now a really good support group and a group that teaches how to cope with anger and deal with it in a healthy way.
I pray every day to continue this journey and believe it or not I wouldn't change it. I am who I am because of my triumphs and hurts.
I'm 35 years old today and man life is good!

What a journey you've been on....I just finished reading Eat, Pray, Love - about another kind of journey than yours but a difficult journey none the less. You might check it out if you haven't already. It has a lot of lessons for anyone who has had a difficult path but is still walking and surviving. It's an easy read.
