Mothers Who Write

Kindahotmom's picture

Take your mom to the 6th annual public reading by participants in the Mothers Who Write program at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll totally relate to their stories of motherhood and mothers-in-law, of divorce and pet deaths, of thong underwear and the strength of women. Plus, it’s free.

(The mom writers are frankly honest, which means some material won't be appropriate for little ears, so leave the kids with dad.)

Funny ladies Amy Silverman, an editor at Phoenix New Times, and Deborah Sussman Susser, an associate editor at Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, teach the 10-week writing course. Classes are offered in both spring and fall. No prior writing experience is necessary. The only requirement to take the class is that you're a mother.
