I look at the comics that post to my home page, check AZCentral, AZMoms, and then CNN. It's my waking-up ritual. On Tuesdays, I look at Final Word on USAToday, and Thursdays, I have to check out Dear Prudence and the Explainer on Slate. I've also been following CNN coverage of the Democratic primaries closely.
I have a lot of time, when I'm working, when I have to be on the pc, but I am in "wait" mode. It's hard to try to do something constructive because, just as I start, I get that call or email I was waiting for. If I run out of news to read and/or comment on, I'll try the crossword or sudoku at USAToday.
My honey and I usually exchange several emails throughout the day. Sometimes, they're mundane (i.e. Can you get milk on the way home? How about chicken for supper?), sometimes we've seen an article we want to share, and sometimes we just check in (i.e. Don't forget to take your medicine. How did your conference call go?) Since we both need to keep our phone lines free, and we're both online anyway, it works for us; we're also not calling when the other is with a customer or colleague.
