So I have never liked the side profile of my nose...I think it's a bit too big - like someone could ski off of it. Everyone who knows me tells me it's fine and I shouldn't worry, but lately, catching a glimpse in photos of my profile, I just cringe. A girlfriend just recently had a boob job and came through with flying colors and is raving about it. It got me thinking....if I'm unhappy with something, should I change it? My husband says he loves me the way I am, but if it's something I want to do, he will support me.
I have a couple of questions and concerns. Has anyone had a nose job for cosmetic purposes, not to fix a problem? I'm a total wimp for pain...how bad is the recovering...time frame, pain level? Is it so ridiculously uncomfortable to deal with?
Also - I am obviously totally freaked that the doc will make it worst than it is. We've all heard the horror stories. Can anyone recommend a great surgeon?
I look at Ashley Simpson and see her great results and it makes me inch that much closer to taking the plunge...but I'm still so uncertain.
If anyone can offer any advice or information, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

I don't have any
I don't have any information, but maybe just an insight?
I have no idea how you are feeling, I will say that upfront. Elective surgery is always risky. We have all seen news stories about people dying during these kinds of things. I guess the bottom line is it really worth it? I know you can say it happens to other people not you, but we sometimes become those other people. Good luck with whatever your decision.

I've felt the same way! I've
I've felt the same way! I've done some research and plan to get a similar surgery that Ashlee Simpson got. The doctor uses a different technique, which helps avoid those cookie cutter turned up ends. It's also less invasive.
Everyone tells me my nose is fine too, but isn't that how it usually goes and I think in the end you will be happier and that's what matters. My old roomate got hers done and it was a subtle change but it made a world of difference for her and how she felt about herself.
Here's a link to that surgeons site he explains the procedure a bit. http://www.drkanodia.com/
My brother had a really
My brother had a really flat, wide nose and he had a nose job. It was very painful and he looked like a train wreck, with lots of bruising. I don't remember how long it took him to recover, but it is shocking when you see someone who has just had a nose job surgery. He got great results though, you would never recognize his nose! My best friend also had one when she was just 14. She still talks about it. So both people I know are happy with the results, but it is not an easy thing to go through.

I think if you really want
I think if you really want to do it you should. Although there is a chance of problems, the odds are in your favor that there won't be. If you have the money and the recovery time and the deep desire - go for it.

i hated my big (italian)
i hated my big (italian) nose all through school, my mom always said once I was 18, I could get a nose job. Most guys I've met through the years like my nose, it had "character" (which maybe they were being polite, but I've never really felt it was the reason I couldn't get a date) I've learned to accept it and even like it (well, kinda), but it's mine and I'm keeping it

Absolutely if there is
Absolutely if there is something you want to change about yourself then do it. I believe that we have to love ourselves the way God made us but I feel like that is more about "what kind of person you are" not necessarily what you look like. So, I do think if you want to get a nose job to make yourself feel better about yourself don't hold back. I think the most important thing I can share with you is to do your homework on the DR. Feel free to email me elisajt@aol.com
ALWAYS CHECK OUT THE MARICOPA COUNTY.GOV WEB SITE TO SEE HOW MANY MALPRACTICE SUITS THE DR HAS BEEN IN AND HOW MANY ARE CURRENTLY OPEN. ALSO, IF HE HAS HAD HIS RECORD SANCTIONED FOR DISIPLNE IN THE PAST. VERRRYY IMPORTANT INFO!!!

Hi HIGHLY recommend Dr.
Hi HIGHLY recommend Dr. Barry Fernando. He has his own practice in the Biltmore area. I'm getting a breast enhancement by him this summer. My sister got her breasts done by him about 8 years ago. My mom has gotten basically her whole body redone (she has gastric bypass 5 years ago) - her breasts, tummy, butt, thighs, face, eyes, etc.--all by Dr. Fernando--and she looks AMAZING. She has a better body than I did at 16! LOL! Anyway, his office is very nice and comfortable, and he is VERY professional and knowledgeable. GOOD LUCK!!!
