My girlfriend and I were talking about this the other day. Because we are all woman here on this chat I want to know what you think and you don't have to say whether your dem or rep if you don't want to but do you think we are ready for a woman for President?

God, I hope so...I think
God, I hope so...I think so....Other countries have intelligent, articulate, accomplished women as leaders. But, then again, some of the postings here, certainly surprised me with their tendency to rely on stereotypes over facts...appeals to emotions, rather than legitimate debate. I wish that this country could be the progressive leader in the world, but we'll have to drop the sterotypes, and strive to overcome faulty logic and biased thinking.
It's a good question, because university professors have the same weight to their vote, as people who power spray their children at car washes. I think that a woman president could be really good for this country. I just have to believe that a woman will put more creativity into health care, education, childcare, the economy, human rights issues, etc. and act more conservatively before breaking all US history precedent and adopting a "strike first" policy, against the recommendations and approval of the UN and the rest of the world leaders.
I hope so....
Id like to think we are but
Id like to think we are but I wonder sometimes. I think it is funny that there are so many other Countries like Germany, Argentina, England, Philippines, and many more that have had a woman president. America is supposed to be the epitome of democracy yet there are men I have actually met that say they will never vote for a woman.
I thinik if we do have a
I thinik if we do have a woman she would need to be a woman and not try and fit into that stereo type that ya'll are talking about... I think it could be good if we had a woman but I also think it could be bad..

I think the country is ready
I think the country is ready for a woman president...I have no doubts that a woman can lead....gender is not an indicator of leadership ability. However......I don't think women should feel obligated to support Hilary Clinton just for the simple fact that she is a woman, they should support her only if they feel she's the right person for the job, and if they would vote for her if they saw her stance on the issues on paper not knowing her gender.
I am not sure Hilary is the best choice overall.
Just curious...who might be
Just curious...who might be the best choice, over all and why?

**Please excuse this email if someone has already won the dem nom.. My whole family has been sick and I haven't seen a single sec of the news...
Your question is good...and that's a hard question for me... I am normally a republican and I get ripped here in az for liking Bush.. (don't gripe at me for liking him, I get it all the time. I'm a texan) Even though I am a Texan I am sort of tired of the good ol boys club.... I will stand by this, At the time 9/11 happened, I don't think anyone else could have handled what he did any better that him. I think John kerry would have tucked his tail and ran with his purple heart to Teerrraaaszzsaaa.... EW!
I will say that I do not think a republican has a chance for office this election and I don't much like McCain anyway.. I like Obama and I really like his wife Michelle. I think they both have strong family values. I still need to research more before I make a dec... I do think we are ready for a woman President but I do not like Hilary at all. (I think I just threw up a little thinking of her in office)... I'm kidding ladies!!! I don't like her for many reasons, it's sad but a lot of them are personal. I don't like her character. Going all the way back to the scandal with Bill I still question how she could stay with a man that was so unfaithful and disrespectful to her if it wasn't for political gain. I think she is pretty shady and thank goodness many more people agree. I guess I hope Obama wins. Like I said I still need to do some research. He seems like a good guy with moral fiber and I am not even a democrat... Wow!
I wish celebs would stay out of politics though... I hate that Oprah supports Obama... I think she supports anyone who is of her race and not the person for who they are and what they believe. I like him from what I know so far and I think he is the best choice so far but I like him for who he is and what he stands for. It's like me voting for Hilary just b/c she is a woman... No way... I watch Oprah sometimes and I like her but she is sort of biast (sp?). I remember one yr she had only he African American award winners on a show. I was thinking where are the Hispanic, Asian and Caucasians that won... Not all her shows are like that but some are... And who cares who Leo Decaprio likes??? It's obnoxious!!
