So i have been of birth control since december. Im finally going back to the doctor at the end of the month to talk about a good birth control. What do you recommend.. I cant do the pill because i forget to take it, but i herd the shot you gain a huge amount of weight! Im so stuck....any suggestions?

I was on Depo for about a total of 4 years. The first 3 years I didn't gain any weight and had no side effects. I had a baby and then went back on Depo. This time I gain about 8 pounds and I always felt hungry. I decided to get Mirena IUD. I've had the IUD since Jan and I haven't had any problems with it (and I've lost the 8 pounds I gained).

stay away from the ortho
stay away from the ortho evera patch that one has too many side effects . I had to get off of it due to those side effects.
ii have a friend who has the IUD that last for 5 years that one has very few side effects from what she told me.
also the nora implant one is suppose to be good as well.

I am a big supporter of Mirena IUD also. I started using it in October and not side effects at all and actually I have not had my period since November. According to my doctor that is common or yours can even become extremely light.

I was on Depo for 8-years and didn't gain much weight and LOVED that my periods stopped completely as well. I got off the Depo shot and was able to get pregnant within 8-months too. I prefered the one shot every three months method. Good luck!

I was on depo in my 20's and when I turned 30. It can be a real headache getting prego after it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants kids in the next year, or for anyone over 30.
After I have my baby, I have no idea what I will do for b/c. i think my DH wants to get a vasectomy.

The Nuva ring works for me
The Nuva ring works for me as well. There is a timer that comes with it to remind you when to change it and my husband didn't "feel it" for the first 4 years I was on it. No side effects and no forgetting! It's great. And when you are off your off and will get pg!
