Well, my husband is in
Well, my husband is in school on Thursday nights, so my valentine's day date way my son....I took him to basketball practice, then we went to dinner at Pei Wei, then we went to the gym and worked out.
Tonight my husband and I are going out for dinner to one of our favorite places.
We don't make a big fuss of valentine's day...........and I am not really a jewelry person......we have a running joke that makes fun of the "he went to jared's" commerical..............my husband will say instead "he went to Wal Mart"............ and my response......."That's ok, she's going to Nordstrom's"...........lol
We had a good time. Went to
We had a good time. Went to Bostons in Tempe and ate a heart-shaped pizza. & a movie. I know, its not exciting or extravagent but c'mon weve been together 8 years, we dont have to impress eachother anymore lol.

We exchanged cards, gave the kids cards with candy, and all had a picnic dinner on the living room floor with take-out chinese (the kids ate pizza). Very romantic ay??? LOL! I'm afraid that after 19 years together, the kids get more excited about Valentine's Day than we do! We'll probably try to find some date time this weekend.
My husband was out of town
My husband was out of town this Valentines. So my son and I went out for Dinner.....it was more for him then for me.
I am not big on Valentines Day except for the kids.
I always tell my hubby it is really a holiday for us girls who had to put up with football all season. So I usually get a day of no sports...no ESPN....no sports center.......so since he wasn't here I still got my gift!
My husband surprised me by
My husband surprised me by being more romantic than I often give him credit for!
He bought me a Brighton necklace chain with 3 charms on it:
An "I," a "red heart" and a "K" (for my first name).
Dumb me didn't even get it at first, he had to explain to me that it means "I Love Kate" :)
And a bottle of wine with a customized label asking me to be his Valentine.
and....to save money....a dozen roses from Costco ($15) - to which I went to Safeway and bought babies breath and greenery and arranged them myself (which I enjoy doing).
No fancy dinner or sitters...
But my sweetest Valentines were the homemade cards from my kids....so even being a single mom means you are with someone who adores and loves you! Hope you enjoyed your day as well!!

We try to make everyday Valentines day :) But seriously, we've been married for 7 years (together for 10) so we just exchanged cards, gave the kids some candy gifts and had a nice delicious homemade dinner(the four of us).

We stayed in. I was going to do take out, but the wait for Pei Wei was 45 minutes. I figured I could make my easy ravioli dish in 10. And I did - I demoed a version of the ravioli dish on Arizona Midday last week. And we also shared a bottle of wine that my mom gave me for Christmas - it was good, too...Tomassi "Ripasso." We didn't have time for a movie, as I had hoped...supervising kid homework and all. So we watched "Lost." We're planning on a romantic dinner tomorrow....this time my hubby will make some filet mignon, I'm thinking of picking up that Menage wine another mom discussed in another forum.
