I say this a lot but you
I say this a lot but you should go through a temp agency for the time being. It might not be exactly what you want to do, but it's income and will give you time to interview or they can help you find a permanent position.

Thank you
Thank you
What type of work do you do?
What type of work do you do? There might be some interesting things you can do from home that you can find by 'thinking outside the box'.

I worked at a title company
I worked at a title company and with the market slowing down they did a big layoff. I have a hard time "thinking outside the box" ;0)
i would suggest going to a
i would suggest going to a temp company as well. Some have temp to hire positions available or you take a position and be looking for what you really want, while having a job. Always seems to be a little less stressful to look for a job when you have one.
I think some of the temp agencies offer medical insurance too. Unless you do not need this and are already covered.
Good luck!
just~me
Oh, I am in the same
Oh, I am in the same situation myself! I am shocked at the lack of jobs.
I have been going at it since January 3rd I have sent out tons of resumes and NOTHING!
My title is Human Resorces with a very strong back ground in Accounting. So I have applied for both.......
I finally went to a professional temp agency three weeks ago...and still NOTHING! My rep was impressed with my resume and said I was on top of the list....waiting!
I too suggest a temp agency and I would do it soon it took a week before I was really in the door sort of speak. Most temp agencys make you take a test.It wasn't that hard because they tested me in the areas I already knew. They also offer a online software teaching for free.So I have been busy brushing up on other software. And most of the jobs are temp to hire. Also did you sign up for unemployment? I know it isn't much but it helps! If you let me know what you do I can keep you in my mind as I search......Good luck!
I'm really sorry to hear you
I'm really sorry to hear you ladies are struggling in the job market. I have friends in the construction industry and they are really hurting, too. I wish you all good luck.
Yes, also sorry to hear
Yes, also sorry to hear about your job loss. So many people have been affected by this turn in the housing market. Just want to wish you well in your job hunt. There are of course a lot of companies you could do side jobs with like Avon, Marykay, Tupperware, Princess House etc. I'm always amazed that people buy lots of stuff at the parties even though I really don't like attending them much or purchasing for that matter. But sorry just a thought...
I just wanted to say that
I just wanted to say that I've been through the same thing. I ended up leaving a very good job, (my subdivision design center positon was eliminated so I worked as a sales agent for two months and left); stupid, because now I cannot claim unemployment. I've been look for a new job since January; I send out an average of 3 resumes per day. I have two degrees, great references and an excellent job history.
I was thinking of getting a degree in HR. I'm sorry to hear you've been going through the same ordeal. Jobs are scarce.
I'm considering medical coding and transciptionist as a back up as the classes are inexpenive and quick. This week I'm looking at car dealership jobs; now, I'm really bottomfishing.
Let me know if you've found anything as of yet. There are so many jobs here in CA requesting accountants and bookkeepers.
I wonder if you have taken a
I wonder if you have taken a look at the help wanted in the small community newspapers or weekly magazines in your area? I know that a lot of the smaller neighborhood businesses like to advertise in the community "weeklies" so they can hire close to home. I have had great luck hiring people this way, and it keeps the would-be employer from digging through hundreds of on-line resumes! Good Luck!
I am sorry about your turn
I am sorry about your turn of events with finding a job. Ugh. The market is just ridiculous now a days. I read that you mentioned you didnt want to do sales as a home business, but you might be surprised how easy that could be and sometimes pretty lucrative. I am personally an executive for Zrii, which is a brand new company still in pre-launch. I am establishing local distributors right now. I am doing relatively well with it, mainly because it is a product that has already had huge impacts in people's health! Plus being endorsed by the Chopra Center for Wellbeing is also a huge advantage. Anyway, you might consider something like Zrii (visit my site below) or, maybe even other nutritional product companies that have done really well in the market too such as Monavie or Xango. I do not personally represent the latter two but I am sure you will have no trouble finding info on those. Not all sales jobs are tough and the way I look at it, if you can solve someone's health problem then it will make you feel really good inside too!!! :) Best of luck to you and stay positive because the market always finds a way to bounce back!!
Best wishes

have you looked into medical
have you looked into medical transcription or coding for doctors and hospitals. i have a friend who does this form home. she works form home as much as she likes. sometimes she works a lot and sometimes she doesnt. she does transcription for hospitals and they gave her a computer program where she can link up to what the doctor recorded. she used to do coding but that meant she had todrive to the hospital and pick uprecords.
