It seems like when shopping for pants for my daughter it seems like I either find pants that fit well in the waist, but are too long and the next size down will be too tight in the waist, or vice versa they'll fit well in the length, but too tight in the waist.
Am I the only one who has this problem? It's quite frustrating and hard to shop and find pants that will fit well. I bought 3 pairs yesterday on sale at Macy's and brought them to the alteration shop this morning, so the great deal I thought I was getting really wasn't that great.

I have that problem with my daughter. Since many jeans now come with all kinds of embellishments, making alterations difficult, I've lately been looking for pants with the adjustible waist bands.

I have the same problem with my son and the adjustable waist band does help some. My son is big and tall for his age and I find that the height/weight label pretty much means nothing when it comes to pants.
I agree, the height and size
I agree, the height and size label mean absolutley nothing in our case too. They just don't seem to make clothing in a "regular" type of fit, what ever that is. It just seems like everything is either a skinny fit, an extremely loose fit, or low rise, flair, hippster, etc. I knew that womens and mens clothes had that kind of fit, but I just recently realized it's trickled down to the children's clothing too.

I have the same problem with my tall, skinny son. Try the Children's Place. Their pants seem to run longer and often have adjustable waists. Also, I find Levis "skinny" jeans seems to work, too. The sizes seem to vary so from brand to brand that I don't even try to buy pants for my boy unless he's with me. I've also heard people say that Target's Mossomo jeans work well for thin girls with long legs. I look forward to summer; shorts are so much easier to fit! Happy shopping!

The problem is very common for kids that are growing.
I use belt (one with no pre-set hole) so it works fine for my 3 year old son-tall and skinny :D
Have a beautiful day!

I seem to get all my pants
I seem to get all my pants at Target lately. My daughter (who's a small seven) can wear a 6 because target's pants are long but have the adjustable tabs so they can be adjusted to fit waist. I always find good buys at kohls too, but you have to be careful, not all of their pants have the tabs.

My little girl is almost 3 and we have the same problem. Pants that are the right length in the leg are to small in the waist. And pants that fit the waist are to long. We try to get adjustable waist and we hem or roll the legs. What else can we do?
