Help...does anyone know a good custom cabinet company?

MegsMom's picture

Hello Everyone,

We are looking to have a custom bookcase built in our home, but I don't know who to call. Does anyone know any great companies that do custom cabinetry? Any help would be fabulous!

Thanks again!

Re Stone Creek: Be careful about recommending Stone Creek. They delivered cabinetry 3 months late, made completely wrong and now refuse to refund my deposit.

Stone Creek is great. We bought bedroom furniture there a few years back...very sturdy and we got to customize it (stain, handles, trim, etc), but on the pricey side (at least for us after years of Bombay, Pier One, Bassett and Ashley furnishings). Still, I think it was worth it.

Call C&A Cabinets

Call C&A Cabinets 480-227-1266. They just did an alteration to my kitchen cabinets and the cabinets he added match my original cabinets perfectly. He's honest, reliable and his work is excellent. I'm glad to be able to recommend them.

Classy Closets did our bookcases in our family room. They were fine. Very responsive. In hindsight I wish we'd done somethings different, for one thing our kickplate is much bigger then it had to be and I wished it was smaller so I could have gotten more drawer space. We had bookcases on two sides of a window and a bench with drawers under the window (just fyi). We also got bids from California Closets (through COSTCO Home) and I didn't like them because they wouldn't provide a drawing of what you'd discussed, so I was never sure if I was comparing apples to apples on bids.

Good luck.

I just saw this post, so sorry it's a little late but I know the perfect cabinet guy. His name is Bill Phillips, 602-284-9961. His prices are reasonable and his work is beautiful. Give him a call, and tell him what you are looking to do. He also does custom kitchens.(just to let people know) His work has been in Home & Garden magazines too. He has 45 years of experience. You will be very pleased with the finished product. He is not only MY cabinet guy, he is also my father.

I had a nighmare experience with Stone Creek...do not recommend them to anyone. My deposit of $6500, given 5 months ago, still has not been returned, cabinets were delivered 3 months late and not made even close to specs. They are rude and inefficient. Have filed complaint with Attorney General's Office.
