I've found a new medium for my artistic side – spray paint. More specifically, Krylon's Fusion for plastic spray paint, which bonds to plastic with no sanding or priming. In a Sunday afternoon, I lined up seven faded green Adirondack chairs and spray painted them blue, burgundy or brown.

The chairs had been destined for alley trash pick-up because they would leave green residue on your clothes if you sat in them. Now they look brand new.

According to the can, this paint works on plastic playhouses, side tables and mailboxes.

Even better was the discovery at my nearby Ace Hardware of a spray paint gun, a $3 plastic gizmo that snaps to the top of the spray paint can. You just squeeze the trigger rather than wear out your fingers pushing down on the button on the top of the spray paint can. So I was able to get the chairs painted without covering myself in paint.

It was quite addicting, really, transforming old into new. I'm going to get a few more cans to paint a plastic table out back. And I noticed my neighbor's lawn furniture is looking a little dingy. Maybe I could do theirs too.

I can see the headlines now "Arizona Repulic Reporter Caught Blue, Brown, and Burgundy Handed" :)

Nice to be green huh? Not the color, but the recycle, reuse, whatever the other one is, thing.

I have some things that need painted.....

One of my best friends is clear spray paint. You spray any non-living thing that goes outdoors and it will add to the life of that object. The sun beats down on the clear paint instead of whatever is under it. I spray all my pots, yard ornaments, rocks, etc....... I also spray painted (colors) my son's bedroom furniture - he loves it. Free handed everything, I'm thinking about some bridge work next!
