Does anyone know of inexpensive home security services? I have checked around and everyone has different prices...I would prefer to make a decision on what home security system I want after I hear some personal experiences. Please help...

Personally we use Protect

Personally we use Protect America @ 34.95/month. We don't have a problem and we know it really works!

One time my son got in the house while me and my hubby were busy and didn't notice him---alarming the house! WHEW!
And because we both forgot our 'password', it didn't stop the process; The police called the closest relative we have and came to the house---ready to shoot! YEAH, imagine the scene. Now, we know that protection would really come so handy and very quick!

Have a beautiful day!

I'm not suggesting you do

I'm not suggesting you do it, but I found a little humor at Frye's Electronics at Baseline and I-10. You can actually go in and buy signs to stick in the yard that say you've got a security service -- without buying the security service.

Back when I had a house full of people and stuff I liked, I used ADT. I'd recommend them without hesitation. They're good at what they do, and you don't have to jump over a bunch of hoops to get in and out of your house, or to lock it up for the night. They were awfully patient and understanding with us; we had a virtual revolving door into the spare rooms and hide-a-beds (we did emergency housing for battered women and their children), so once a month or so, somebody would trip the alarm. They'd call before they dispatched fire and police, so we didn't have to deal with telling the authorities, "Never mind"; the times we did have someone trying to get in (usually a drunk knucklehead under a restraining order), ADT had police there within minutes.

Thanks for your help

We went with ADT seven years

ArizonaMoms's picture

We went with ADT seven years ago. We've had a mostly good experience so far. I think the cost is around $35 a month.

If cost is an issue, some people I know have gone to a home improvement store to buy deterrents, such as a removable bar for the inside of their window or cameras for outside their house. Some people I know use both the security system and the extras.

That also sounds like a good

We have ADT and love it. It

We have ADT and love it. It is so worth it and only cost a little over a dollar a day. Cant beat that. If not affordable, just try to not eat out a day or two a week and it will cover the cost.

There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one!

We've used ADT for the past

We've used ADT for the past 5 years (3 years in WA and 2 in AZ) and love them. They only cost about $35 a month.
