Is it just me, or does posting anecdotal, personal stories, where any old stranger can read, make you nervous too?
I find it hard to share insights, thoughts or experiences without telling a real life example.
But, obviously, there are some nuts out there! After reading a few crazy posts, I really felt very vulnerable posting anything here.
I speak from the heart, and often feel like all the moms here, are just like me (except the republicans who love Bush, but I'm open minded and will find SOMETHING about you to like. LOL). But, then I realize that some very unbalanced folks could be reading about my kids and it gives me the hebbie jeebies!
But, it's hard to share experiences without actually mentioning the experience....
It doesn't bother me,
It doesn't bother me, particularly, because you could be standing in line behind me in the supermarket, and, unless I complimented your children on their good behavior, and asked permission to buy them candy bars (BTW, that will be me), you couldn't pick me out of a lineup.
There are unbalanced folks out there. Heck, there are unbalanced folks in here. It's not the folks who love and respect kids you need to worry about sharing with. I think that, collectively, we've got a pretty effective creep-o-meter going.
I'm glad you are back! I'm
I'm glad you are back! I'm not nervous about posting personal stories, but I am always very aware of preserving my anonymity. I don't disclose a whole lot of personal details, and usually speak in only general terms. The only thing I really get the "heebie jeebies" about are posting personal pictures! I just can't bring myself to post pics of myself or family. I remember reading a Newsweek article about on-line child predators and the thought of someone trolling for pics of my family did me in.
I have qualms too whenever I
I have qualms too whenever I discuss personal stuff in an open forum. But this seems a good, safe site, and I never divulge anything too personal or potentially dangerous.
And Optimist: as for "Republicans who love Bush" --- you'd be AMAZED at how many of us GOP moms do NOT have warm and fuzzy feelings for our current presiden! LOL!
I, too, am pretty careful
I, too, am pretty careful about what I post. I don't see a lot of risk in this site, but I will really watch where my kids are posting when they get older! It is always a good idea to be cautious. I try not to post too much personal information either. Welcome back!

Glad you are back too. I was so excited when I saw you had posted again. Even if you are some left wing liberal...LOL. I never knew someone like that could be so level headed and have such great advice!
