Relocating to Arizona

Welcome to AZ, I hope you like it, I have lived hear for 25 yrs and I love it !!! I am only familiar with the East Valley Mesa,tempe,chandler , gilbert,queen creek and East Mesa.All of the schools are nice,however there are some areas in all of the cities that are questionable,some tips I have recieved from police officers are to contact the closest police station to where you are considering moving to,and find out what most of their calls dispatched are ie. a lot of domestic violence,break ins,gang related crimes,you want to stay away from common sense stuff. I hope this is helpful to you. Some of the schools in central Mesa are also kind of rough,unfortuneately because that is where I grew up and have so many happy memories,but it has gone down hill,now the outskirts of mesa close to gilbert,and Queen creek are really nice. I'm not familiar with the Phoenix area, but we live 25 minutes from Phoenix in the East Mesa area.
I feel very safe in our area. The Gilbert and Mesa areas are very nice. You are just on the outskirts of the big city.

I have lived in the east valley my whole life and I am very familiar with Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa. All are nice suburbs that have alot of nice, new neighborhoods with affordable housing. Our housing market is in a HUGE slump and it's a buyers market. I for one, loved Gilbert. Schools were great and the city is pretty safe. Although I think it has 100,000 people or more, it is still called a town. Housing prices are dropping so in North and central Gilbert are now more afforable, and a good location. If you go to very south Gilbert, you are a little further away from the hussle and bussle but housing is also a little cheaper.
